LAGOS NEVER SLEEPS_HORNS,DUST & DREAMS

(Edited)

I snapped this today after being cleared from Lagos traffic.

Horns blaring, okadas weaving, buses fighting for space... then the sky went cloudy like it wanted to join the chaos too.

But look closer. See the hustle? Market women shouting prices. Cars inching forward. Everyone going somewhere important.

This is Lagos for you. Noisy. Crowded. Stressful.
But also alive. Full of dreams. Full of people trying.

I used to hate this traffic. Now I see it differently.
Every car, every bike, every face = someone’s story. Someone chasing “their own buffet for one” moment.

We complain about Lagos traffic, but honestly? It’s where most of us built our character. Patience, negotiation, survival skills... all learned here.

Location: Lagos State, Nigeria
Shot on:Phone camera
Mood:Tired, but grateful I’m part of this hustle

Even here in the Philippines, our problem with traffic is truly terrible. However, you have a point. Traffic isn’t just congestion; it’s almost a social classroom. The endless jams force people to develop patience, sharpen negotiation skills with bus drivers or fellow commuters, and hone survival instincts in a chaotic environment.

Thank you so much @leighdalisay 🙏❤️
Didn’t expect someone from Philippines to relate!
You’re right - traffic everywhere teaches patience the hard way 😂
Appreciate you taking time to read + comment.
Made my day!

I think the traffic problem is universal. Unless you don't live in a big city. I always preferred living in the party towns of each country. Usually beach towns, the traffic is light, the night life is shiny and the mood is relaxed.

For the US this would be Miami, for Mexico this would be Cancún, for Spain Ibiza and for France, Nice. Opportunities might not be all there, but on the opposite side you lose the stress of the city.

Right?? 😂 The sky was literally like "even I’m tired of this traffic" ☁️ Glad you felt it too! Beach towns sound soft though... I might need that Miami energy after this

Of course, living in the capital for a while, this is a daily view on our main streets.

This is WILD 😭 Exact same energy as Onitsha Bridge at rush hour! Capital traffic really has one blueprint worldwide. "Daily view" is crazy though... how do you people not go mad daily?? 😂 Beach town peace is looking like heaven right now. Which capital is this btw?

This is in San Salvador which is a Joke compared to Mexico city. San Salvador is just a 2M people city, but Mexico city is a 20M people city and the lines are way larger.
You can be stuck for a couple of hours in your car.

Why is the pavement clean looking and light brownish? Yeah it's annoying to be in a store where the salesladies always ask what we want, but just like what you said, this is the place full of dreams.

@iamshane48788 Haha good eye! 😂 That pavement was probably just washed or the camera light caught it nice. Lagos dust is usually everywhere but sometimes the street cleaners surprise us.

And yesss the salesladies 😭 "Madam what you want?" before you even enter - Lagos hospitality is aggressive 😂 But you're right, chaos + dreams is the real combo here.
