A horizon where the Caribbean merges with the stones and the sea.

At first glance, the Colombo Mountains, a system of hills and limestone marble formations, may appear modest in altitude. But it is here, at this elevation of just a few meters above sea level, where the Isle of Youth reveals its most authentic character.

My objective sought to capture the unique texture of its rocks, shaped by time and wind, and the intense green of the vegetation that clings to the stone. This is not an imposing mountain range because of its height, but because of the feeling of peace it conveys. From its highest points, the Caribbean Sea appears infinite in the background, a constant reminder of our location at the western end of Cuba.

Un horizonte donde el Caribe se funde con las piedras y el mar.

A simple vista, la Sierra de Colombo, un sistema de colinas y formaciones de mármol calizo , puede parecer modesta en altitud. Pero es aquí, en esta loelevación de apenas unos metros sobre el nivel del mar , donde la Isla de la Juventud revela su carácter más auténtico.

Mi objetivo buscaba capturar la textura única de sus rocas, modeladas por el tiempo y el viento, y el verde intenso de la vegetación que se aferra a la piedra. Esta no es una sierra imponente por su altura, sino por la sensación de paz que transmite. Desde sus puntos más elevados, el mar Caribe se dibuja infinito al fondo, un recordatorio constante de nuestra ubicación en el extremo occidental de Cuba .
