Hello again, steam locomotive!
Greetings, friends.
Yesterday at 11:15, I heard the whistle of a steam locomotive from the railway, it should not be confused with the whistle of a diesel locomotive. I studied the news of our city and found out that the "Christmas Steam locomotive" is coming to our city again. That's why today I decided to meet this train at the Belka station. When I got to the station, I decided to change my plans because there were freight cars at the station. I headed for the railroad crossing, just like last time. To do this, I need to walk 500 meters along the sleepers towards the train.
When I came to the houses that are visible ahead, I heard the whistle of a steam locomotive. I misjudged the time a bit. Oh, my God. I walked along the sleepers and realized that I would have nowhere to get off the railway if I did not manage to reach the car road. There were high snowdrifts to the right and left, taller than me. I didn't take a photo; I ran forward.
And I made it to the right place. When I got on the road, the traffic light beeped. A few seconds later, a steam locomotive appeared.

Now my task is to take some good shots so that I can share them with you, friends.
I was holding a Nikon D5300 with a TAMRON 18-400mm F3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD B028N lens in my hand
I set the camera's settings to f/8 aperture, 1/320 shutter speed, and 100 ISO. I think this is a completely universal setting for a sunny day and will work at different distances on a moving object.

One railcar. In winter, the train had 2 carriages. And this is not the same locomotive that was last time. This locomotive is blue; that one was black.

The locomotive driver blew a loud horn and then 2 more. I even started in surprise, and the man waved at me.
On Christmas Day, the train was decorated with a light illumination. It was possible to do something similar this time, because it's a holiday train!

The train passed through the crossing, blew a farewell horn, and I went towards the house. Of course, I took the road instead of the sleepers.

This little stream running down the mountain turns the road into an impassable one. I have lived in this town for 35 years and have never seen asphalt on this site. To be more precise, 4 roads are running from the upper street to the lower one, and none of them has ever had asphalt.
If you walk along such a road in the dark, you can break your legs, because you can trip over rocks and fall.
Not every car will be able to climb a mountain on such a road, and not every driver will risk going down.

Another 400 meters right down the road and I'll be home.
By the way, at 7 a.m. I went for a walk with the dog, but it was very slippery on the road, so I let the dog walk for 20 minutes and returned home.
Friends, goodbye! Until the next walk.

You are welcome
@ewkaw 🙏👌😊 thank you 😊👌🙏
It is fascinating (and a bit shocking!) to hear that those roads haven't seen asphalt in 35 years. Navigating those streams and rocky slopes sounds like a workout in itself. It really highlights the rugged beauty and the challenges of life in your town, especially during the spring melt. Isn't it a bit too early for Christmas train? Or too late? depending on how you look at it. 😎
These roads have never really seen asphalt. Probably, road builders do not know how to lay asphalt on such a steep slope.
The "Christmas train" is what I call it because the first time it went on Christmas Day, and there were flashing lights on it.

I love trains and this one is a beauty! One of my favorite family stories is my dad telling of my grandmother that she would hear the train whistle and say oh my God it's 3:00 and she would go running out of the house to get her freshly washed laundry off the line before the steam engine arrived and her clean clothes got spotted with soot,
Great photos... Next time be more careful!
Thanks for the package! I'm getting very close to my goal!

I'm writing a repeat message. For some reason, I don't see the first one.
Previously, trains were actually used by many people as a clock reconciliation. And then there was the factory horn, which people used to navigate by time.
What is your goal? I hope you're not going to conquer the world. I know a couple of people on both sides of the World who are trying to do this right now.
At the beginning of the year, I achieved one of my goals - I bought a new laptop. But that was my intermediate goal.
How many more goals do I have? A lot. :)
