Quickly got dubbed the lizard king at the dance studio as I seem to find many of them. They're not exactly slow creatures and extremely agile. The tricky part is snatching them up without breaking the tail off. This one was tiny and had a brilliant blue hue that shimmered across its tail.
Did you know that some things are genetic? Aside from being a lizard king, I'm also a snake charmer. Guess who caught this king snake out in the yard?
All three princesses took turns holding it. Took a minute to get a tongue shot 😜 but worth the wait. @khaldeesi was the one that found and friended it this time. It now resides under the house to help keep the rodent and insect population down.
I wonder if they are scared of us? Do they often flee because they see a larger predator or fear that they'll be put in a pet shop or worse - prodded by aliens in a laboratory? Wouldn't it be great to be a parcel tongue? Ha! I hope you all REMEMBER TO BE YOU! I always am, even while shedding skin.

Is that a skink? It looks pretty cool. We don't ever see many of them up where I live. I've seen a couple when I was a kid though. Snakes I can't really do, so hats off to you and the girls for being so comfortable with them.
Yup, blue tail. Also got red bellies here, two most common. There are at least 2 dozen non poisonous snakes around here and I've hopefully taught them the difference 😉
That's why I love Michigan, we only have one kind of rattler and they are super rare.

We dont have many like these but whenever I see one, they never seem to be fearful.
