One bike spoke broke because of bumpy roads in Bulgaria
Das ist mir bei einem Fahrrad noch nie passiert, eine Fahrrad-Speiche beim Hinterrad ist abgebrochen, vermutlich wegen den holprigen Fahrradwegen und Straßen in Bulgarien. Die positive Nachricht, konnte die Speiche günstig reparieren lassen, hat zusammen mit einem kleinen Bike-Service nur 14 Euro gekostet.
Allerdings habe ich jetzt Angst, dass während der Fahrt wieder eine Speiche brechen könnte und mich dann an der Speiche verletzen könnte, wenn sie sich nach außen biegen würde.
Was denkt ihr? Habt ihr schon mal eine gebrochene Speiche gehabt?

This has never happened to me with a bike before, a spoke on the rear wheel broke, probably because of the bumpy bike ways and roads in Bulgaria. The good news is that I was able to get the spoke repaired cheaply, together with a small bike service, it only cost 14 euros.
However, I'm now worried that another spoke could break while I'm riding and I could injure myself if the spoke bent outward.
What do you think? Have you ever had a broken spoke?

I just remove them when they break, you can survive without one or two of em

Oha, dass muss aber dann ordentlich gebumpert haben.
That is not a common fault, it has never happened to me.
Ooops, haven't had such yet, it seems a bit of an uncommon problem from my experience. Maybe the quality of the bike wheel?
Also think combination of low quality wheel plus bumpy roads.

Habe aber gehört das passiert, wenn man fest im Sattel sitzen bleibt bei Unebenheiten. Man soll dann mit dem Arsch hoch kommen. Also zumindest eine Möglichkeit wann es passiert.
K.a. ob es stimmt.
Würde gern wieder Fahrrad fahren, aber dafür bräuchte ich erst mal ein Rad, eins das mich tragen kann.
Never had this issue and never saw someone having this issue. Maybe you should play at the lottery. But sounds like a cheap service. This bike was a rental am I right?
Was actually my own bike I bought in Bulgaria, not often used.

Hatte ich auch schon, auch mit Auto damals in Bulgarien vor einigen Jahren, das waren richtig löchrige Strassen Nähe Grenzen aus Serbien kommend
Straßen und vor allem die Gehsteige sind die letzten Jahre deutlich besser geworden vor allem im Zentrum, aber auf den Fahrradwegen (wenn es überhaupt welche gibt) ist es oft holprig und abseits der Hauptrouten sieht es auch wieder anders aus.
Ja, ich weiss - Bulgarien war früher auf vieles ausgerichtet aber ganz marginal auf Radfahrer

Ich fahre relativ viel und hatte schon einige Fahrräder von ganz billig bis etwas wertiger, aber das ist mir noch nie passiert.
Ich würde mir da aber nicht allzu viel Gedanke darüber machen, die Chancen dass so etwas nochmal passiert schätze ich als eher gering ein.
Und wenn doch gibt es ein Problem mit der Qualität.

Das hatte ich noch nie. Wieviel Druck hast du auf den Reifen, evtl. ja etwas zu viel?!
Guter Punkt, vielleicht die Reifen für den holprigen Untergrund zu stark aufgepumpt.
My Kona mountain bikes are built tough. Great for the multi terrain commutes to and from my work since it's only 6 kms. I worn out 3 bikes. In that time I did have biking accidents fracturing my right clavicle, twice. I believe I have mentioned this before. I also promised my Roommate that I retire from biking. It's gotten too dangerous with the character of the automobile traffic near my home.

So I reiterate, no more reckless mountain biking. Just normie driving a little compact Nissan EV from now on.
I had that happen sometimes when I was a kid. Most of the times I just removed the broken ones. During that time I got new bikes quite frequently, though, because I outgrew them. Not sure if it's actually a good idea if you want to keep the bike for a while.

Mach dir kein Kopf beim Fahren wegen deiner Speiche. Die verbiegt sich sowieso recht leicht, sollte dir also nix passieren wenn wieder eine bricht. Is halt ein gammeliges Rad. Weil ein Rad muss ja auch holprige Wege abkönn. :-)
It hasn't happened to me, but it has happened to a few friends of mine. I don't bike much at all.
