Warmth - an Emotion, a Feeling!
That warm fuzzy feeling in your stomach when you're spending special moments with friends or family; the warmth of the sun baking on your back; the heat coming from the fireplace, or candlelight, not only giving warmth, but also casting a glow and lighting the way.
I've been very cold the past few weeks, still have to become accustomed to the weather in the new region I've found myself in since buying a small apartment to be close to family. It's already November, which is supposed to be summer, and while some days start lovely and warm, they often change in the blink of an eye to an icy wind. I don't do well in the cold; I much prefer the warmth of the sun, without the humidity I used to have in my previous home. I keep a big fluffy blanket on my bed, my knitted cap, even my convertible/half gloves, so I can still type or pick up a cup of hot tea. The cuddly teddy bear has a long story to tell, but he was given to me in memory of someone very special, so he keeps me company on those cold nights.

My brother's sausage Crusoe also feels the cold and often wraps himself in his blanket, often even buries himself underneath, so he's totally covered.

My son and I visited the Mauritshuis in The Hague two years ago. I had that warm, fuzzy feeling that day. We walked through a busy market at the Lange Vijverberg, next to the Hofvijver, a scenic lake surrounded by impressive buildings, and the cityscape with some ultra-modern buildings towering in the background. The sun was shining on that warm day, cheerful people, many tourists, doing the same as we did; walking and chatting, tasting delicious foods, warmth in the air not just from the sun alone! Making our way to the art gallery afterward, my son, who is very protective of his Mom, slowed down his pace so I could keep up with him, and was patient when I stopped for a photo opportunity, time and again.
We saw so many paintings that day, but we could not get close enough to the priceless Vermeer painting, The Girl with a Pearl Earring, and managed to get someone to take a photo of us in the foyer with the massive 3D print behind us. The painting that stood out for me, however, was the Old Woman and Boy with Candles, by the Flemish painter Rubens. That painting exuded warmth - the glow of the candle casting a light over them, and the loving look of the young boy gazing at the old lady whose face speaks of a warm heart, was beautifully captured by the artist. I included this photo of the painting merely because that is the kind of day it was with my son.

Why all these ramblings about WARMTH? Well, that is the theme for this week's Friendlymoose Photo Contest New Round - WARMTH run by @friendlymoose himself, of course!

Warmth, as you all know, is found in many places, on our skin, in our hearts, and even in our tummies, and I hope you enjoyed reading and found a little of the warmth that we all need to live, thrive, and make the most of this life!

Awww what an adorable teddy. Hello! <3 I'm sure he's glad he's made it on the blockchain.
Hello sweet @honeydue, teddy is so soft and cuddly! Hope you're well my dear friend, I must hop over and pay you a Hive visit to see what you're up to!
I'm great, @lizelle. Hugs to you and teddy both <3
😆 he's so cute 😍 ❤️
I've been to the Mauritshuis in The Hague too, loved it.
I loved the whole area around it, @erikah! There are so many paintings, one actually needs way more time than we had! My son bought me a 'Cat with a Pearl Earring' T-shirt afterwards, very quaint!
So snuggly. The design of the blanket made it cuter haha
It is cute indeed, and the orange suits his chocolate-brown coat😅
Beautiful, warm memories. I love the pup! So cute that he cuddles himself into the warm blanket. And you're right about the painting - it is quite warm feeling! Blessings to you!
Your dog feels comfortable with the Halloween pumpkin blanket. It made it warm especially if the weather is cool. Your dog loved it a lot.
