[ENG-SPN] Sunset in Madrid's Retiro Park / Atardecer en el Parque del Retiro de Madrid

It's normal that there, over that same Great Pond where kings once enjoyed a smaller-scale spectacle of the famous Roman Naumachia, sunsets paint glorious scenes, where, without the need for complicated alchemical operations, the ancient stone opens up to the graceful golden touches that bid farewell to a sun wearily marching toward the ends of the earth, to sink, as was once thought, into the dark waters of the northernmost capes of Spain, such as Finisterre.

It is usually, in any case, with or without daydreaming, a fantastic spectacle, which also rekindles the flames of the spirit and, with the deep chords of silence, invites one to a contemplative meditation that frees the soul from the shackles of the mundane, inadvertently introducing it to the metaphorical palace of infinity: perhaps to that very place where, after all, poets affirm, eternity resides.

Suele ser normal que ahí, sobre ese mismo Gran Estanque en el que antiguamente los reyes disfrutaban de un espectáculo a menor escala de las famosas Naumaquias romanas, los atardeceres pinten unos escenarios gloriosos, donde, sin necesidad de complicadas operaciones alquímicas, la vieja piedra se abra a los cumplidos toques dorados que despiden a un sol que camina cansino hacia los confines del mundo, para hundirse, como se pensaba antiguamente, en las oscuras aguas de los cabos más septentrionales de España, como es el caso de Finisterre.

Suele ser, de cualquier manera, con o sin ensoñación de por medio, un espectáculo fantástico, que, además, aviva las llamas del espíritu e invita, con los profundos acordes del silencio, a una meditación contemplativa que libera el alma de las cadenas de lo mundano, para introducirla, inadvertidamente, en el palacio metafórico de lo infinito: quizás en ese mismo lugar, donde, al fin y al cabo, afirman los poetas, que reside la eternidad.
