[ENG-SPN] Antagonisms / Antagonismos

Of the ancient multicultural wealth that, for a good part of its long history, characterized this old and metaphorical bull's hide, which is Spain, many places still survive, which, like that old capital of forgotten empires, as the German poet, Erich Maria Remarque, defined Toledo, invite us to make a memorable journey in time, every time, that, letting ourselves be carried away by the adventure, we set foot in its dark and solitary streets.

Cities, such as, for example, Ejea de los Caballeros, with its superb Romanesque church from the 12th century, dominating, from its watchtower, the old Jewish quarter, as marginal today as it was in the Middle Ages, preserve important biases of those others that defined the so-called cultures of the Book, which, despite the disagreements, testify to an interesting cultural mix.

From this mixture, from this antagonism of yesteryear, sometimes the sky also gives signs and it could even be said that, some nights, the Cross and the Crescent become well-matched neighbors, maintaining a healthy and polite conversation.

They are part of our historical, artistic and cultural heritage and, over the centuries, they continue to be interesting and, above all, enigmatic in many ways. At least, that is how it seems to me.

The craftsmanship of the tower is an exceptional one and that's the reason it's still standing after so many years. It's interesting to see the cross on its top matching with the crescent (moon). Thanks for sharing.

It is a Mudejar style tower, that is, supposedly built by Muslim builders, very common and also very beautiful, especially in this area of Aragon. Thank you for appreciating it.
