The romantics have here, on this side of the banks of the Duero, one of those places, eminently for the media, where mystery, tradition and fantasy, not only served in the past as firewood from whose embers it arose, with the spontaneity of imagination, part of that glorious literature, which, due to the irrepressible driving force that encourages it, has well deserved the description of universal. Writers and poets were not only opportunely seduced by the special charm that emanates from the place, but also, there were not a few artists and architects, who, still animated by the zeal and magnificence that characterized the sacred norms that governed the construction of buildings of the past, above all, of a religious nature, were encouraged to leave here part of a wisdom that always went hand in hand with the spirit.

The most significant example, the one, which also indicates part of the clues that the Knights Templar who settled here in the 12th century, founding the unique monastery, dedicated to the peculiar figure of a curious saint named Polo - were pursuing. and from here, that each one speculates with the familiarities of the name- confirms, among other things, the existence of very ancient cults, possibly dedicated, for the most part, to the figure of the Mother Goddess: that same Annu, Anna or Water , which, in addition to bearing the name of the Mother of the Mother, that is, Ana, also gives its name to the mountain that shelters the singular hermitage of San Saturio, the Patron Saint of the city of Soria and by extension, of everything which in its day was one of the most powerful centers of the Celtiberians of old Hispania. This is a hermitage, moreover, that, in addition to the uniqueness of its octagonal-shaped floor plan -visit the chapels of any cathedral and delve into its shape and its symbolic sense of infinity and immortality- is hung, like a watchtower beacon, on an authentic labyrinth of caves, where adepts and hermits, teachers and disciples left their mark, formed and led by that media auxiliary of the inevitable Wheel of Fortune, Fate, were decisive in the life and thought of the peoples.
