Do I look strange? I bet I do. But I can see just fine because, first impression notwithstanding, these glasses do not block the wearers view because they are pinhole glasses. In fact, if you look carefully you can see some of these tiny holes.

They actually work quite nicely if you suffer from eye strain - which, while insidious, is no joke as it can cause extreme stress, headaches, vision degradation, etc. Fortunately, I am not suffering any of the above - but I do get eye fatigue and these actually help nicely.

the great thing about them is that, while they darken your field of vision, they allow you to see everything in focus without focusing at all. It is akin to looking into space - yet seeing objects near and far equally clearly (even if a bit more lighting may be required). At first you see the glasses themselves and that may be slightly irritating - but once you get past that you realize that your eyes are resting even if they are actually at work. And yes, you can still do quite a few things in them - for example, I am typing this text while wearing them. That may not be super convenient but it works.

The principle at work in the same as that used by pinhole cameras - in a way, you basically get a bunch of them and as you move your eyes you just switch from one pinhole camera to another. And it seems to be a brilliant device! Given how simple it is to make, it is also quite inexpensive - only a couple of USD if I remember right. So if you suffer from eye fatigue this may be something you want to try.
