A white heron.
A walk by the lake.
My friends and I went for a walk when it was still cold. We decided to go to the lake. And we didn’t regret it at all. There we saw herons. They’re so beautiful. Very graceful birds. I like how they stand on one leg. You have to have such good balance to do that. I can’t even stand on one leg for a minute. But herons love that pose. They can even sleep on one leg.
The herons didn’t fly away to warmer places. They stayed to spend the winter on this lake. It probably isn’t too cold for them, and this weather suits their lifestyle. But many birds flew to warmer climates during the winter. Now, with the arrival of spring, the birds are returning home; they’re building nests, flying around, and enjoying being back home. It’s so pleasant outside right now—or if you open the window, you can hear the birds singing that have returned home from warmer climates.
There were white and black herons on the lake. They feed on what they catch in the lake, such as frogs, fish, and other creatures.
In winter, it’s a good idea to feed the birds, because in such weather it’s hard for them to find food. We need to help the birds that stay for the winter.

Oouu, such lovely shots. I wonder how close you were and why the bird didn’t fly away.

The last photo is cinematic. Love it so much

Hi.

Thank you very much.

I was about 7-10 meters away. This body of water is so easy to get to, they're probably not afraid of people unless you chase them away.
