Beachside Breakfast and Rainy Roads - A Traveler's Diary
Hello everyone
We'd been on the road all day, from the crack of dawn until the night sky took over. It felt like forever, navigating through towns and countryside, the hours dragging on as we chased the sunset. Tired as hell, we were itching for a place to crash.
Finally, we picked a hotel close to the beach. Once we got the room sorted, we hightailed it there pronto. The place was decent, but the room wasn't exactly spacious. No big deal, though; we were too beat to care.
After chucking our stuff down, a hot shower was the first order of business. The water worked its magic, washing away the road grime and travel fatigue. The room might've been cozy, or let's call it snug, but the promise of a decent sleep outweighed any gripes we had.
As our heads hit the pillow, the sound of waves outside and the sea breeze kind of sealed the deal. Sleep swept over us in no time. In that tiny hotel room by the beach, we surrendered to a night of peaceful slumber, ready to wake up to a new day of adventures ahead.
Last night, I had this grand plan to wake up early and catch the sunrise at the beach. It sounded idyllic in my head, but as it often goes, reality had other ideas. I ended up hitting the snooze button one too many times and rolled out of bed nearly at 7 a.m. Not exactly the crack of dawn I had in mind.
Our room was a hop, skip, and a jump away from the beach, so I hurriedly showered and got dressed. As I stepped out, I noticed a sign pointing the way to the beach, which also had villas scattered along the shore. Intrigued, I decided to check it out.
When I reached the beach, I was greeted by a sight that was a little different from what I expected. Besides the typical hotel rooms, there were these charming villas right next to the shore. And just in front of it all, a glistening swimming pool sparkled in the morning light.
Unfortunately, my grand plan of catching the sunrise had been thwarted by my tardiness. The sun was already playing high up in the sky, but not one to miss a photo opportunity, I whipped out my camera and snapped away at the poolside and the beach.
What struck me the most was the stark difference from the beaches in Phuket. The sand here had a darker hue, not as fine and pristine as the sandy shores I was used to. It gave the whole place a unique vibe, a departure from the typical postcard-perfect beaches but beautiful in its own rugged way.
So there I was, capturing moments in a place that turned out to be quite different from my sunrise fantasy but charming in its own distinct way.
After snapping photos of the picturesque surroundings, I made my way back to the room to gather my belongings and lug them over to the car. The morning air was starting to warm up, and the promise of a new day hung in the atmosphere.
With luggage in tow, we headed to the hotel restaurant for some much-needed breakfast. The restaurant was a spacious room with a high ceiling, strategically positioned next to the swimming pool and beach. We opted for a spot where we could soak in the view of the beach while enjoying our meal.
Unlike many places that offer breakfast buffets, this hotel went with a set breakfast. We each decided on the classic American breakfast.
The staff kindly mentioned they also served rice porridge. Intrigued, I decided to switch things up and ordered a bowl of porridge.
As we waited for our food, the anticipation mixed with the soothing sounds of the waves in the background created a relaxed atmosphere. When the breakfast finally arrived, it was a feast for the eyes – a hearty American breakfast for each of us, complete with all the essentials. My additional bowl of rice porridge added a touch of variety to the spread.
Sitting by the beach, savoring our breakfast, we took our time. The morning breeze and the unhurried pace of the meal allowed us to fully appreciate the start of the day. It took us about half an hour to relish every bite, sipping on hot coffee and enjoying the unhurried ambiance of the hotel's restaurant. With breakfast done, we were fueled up and ready for whatever the day had in store for us.
Satisfied and fueled up, we made our way to the counter to check out. With the formalities sorted, we wasted no time and hit the road, setting our sights on the remaining 500 kilometers to Phuket Province. Little did we know, the journey held a few surprises for us.
As we embarked on the highway, the weather had other plans. Intermittent raindrops splattered against the windshield, and at times, the skies opened up, making the road a bit of a challenge. To add to the mix, there were sporadic road repairs that forced us to slow down, unable to zip through at our preferred speed.
Despite the occasional setbacks, the drive had its own charm. The rain, though a hindrance, brought a refreshing coolness to the air. The road repairs, although inconvenient, gave us moments to appreciate the scenery around us. It was a journey that demanded patience but rewarded us with unexpected glimpses of the landscape.
As the kilometers rolled by, so did the clock. Around 4:40 p.m., we finally pulled back into familiar territory – Phuket Province. The tires hummed along the road, and the rain had bid us farewell, leaving behind memories of a road trip filled with adventures, scenic detours, and the simple pleasure of the open road. Home at last, we unpacked the car, weary but content, with a treasure trove of experiences from our journey.

An impressive and memorable visit this is. These type of peaceful environment always gives us relaxation and you lost in that environment that's why you have not caught the view of morning sun. But the swimming pool view and hotel photography providing much luxury and peaceful relaxation. Healthy breakfast refers the high quality of the hotel. At the end SkyView is amazing and interesting to leave someone.
I appreciate your kind words! The serene atmosphere indeed made it hard to catch the sunrise, but the pool view, hotel, and healthy breakfast made the visit unforgettable. The SkyView was truly amazing! Thanks for noticing.
