POULTRY FARM AND THINGS THAT MAKE UP THE COST OF PRODUCTION FROM DAY OLD TILL HARVEST.
I want to use this medium to greet all great Hivers. How has been your day so far, hope you are all doing good? I'm positive minded that it's all well and fine.
Aside the fact that you are starting the poultry farm business new where you have to get lot of things in place like building a Pen to accommodate the birds plus the building of brooder pen( which is usually smaller room for brooding day old birds though not really necessary). Then another thing getting other poultry farm tools like plastic drinkers and feeders, bigger drinkers, iron feeders, broom, shovel and what have you. All these are things you get once which are not termed constant cost of production. Once you buy them, thru will help cover production longer period of time.
What's cost of production in poultry farm and what are these cost of production?
Cost of production is the total amount of capital that you spent before certain product is produced. Before a farmer is able to rear birds from day old till they reach to harvest, there are expenses that a farmer needs to spend to make up the cost of production.
As I have mentioned at the beginning of this content, which I said, aside putting in place tools that are going to be constant use in the farm which you are not getting in subsequent time. These are the expenses that make up the cost of production to rear birds from day old to harvest. These things are....
The docs. The docs are regarded as day old birds just hatched from the hatchery farm. It's the most important of the the expenses because all other expenses rally round these birds.
The Feed. The feed that the birds will consume from day old till they will reach to be harvested in case you are able to stockpile to escape any inflation of price.
The Vaccine. The vaccine is another important expenses that is necessary among the cost of production after feed. The birds are vaccinated every 7 days for 4 weeks(gumboro 2 times, lasota 2 times).
The logistics. The logistics is another expenses which is the cost on mobility or transportation, maybe on getting the vaccines for the birds. Also expenses on getting litter materials, moving the feed from the feed store to the your Poultry farm. This is one of the expenses that make up the cost of production.
