Large scale Groundnut farming, The benefits of growing leguminous plants
Hello Hive
Groundnuts is one of the major crops we grow in on a large scale in our family.
We have numerous use for it like we use it in preparing soup called 'Miya geda' in hausa language
I can't forget the popular 'Kunu geda' a combination of groundnuts and millet drink altogether.
With high expectations I can't wait for the time of harvest so that I can show us how to prepare these delicacies.
Aside these usage we also cook and fresh groundnuts, while the dry one is also used to make groundnut cake popularly known as kulikuli.
- It was a sunny day and I had to force those lids open.
Most times we practise shifting cultivation and mixed farming.
Shifting cultivation helps to replenish the soil fertility.
We plant groundnuts on this spot for 2-3years and then use this spot for planting either yams or cassava.
But in most cases we love to maximize space, that is why we have added a little of maize at intervals in the groundnut farm.
The farm is fairly and we are looking at harvesting some good amount of groundnuts, let's say 4 and above.
Leguminous plants like beans and groundnuts are part of the plant we like to grow because of their protenious nature and ability to replenish the soil fertility.

.I cherish using groundnut for soup making but one of the things I have not tested is the Kunu Jeda made with it.
I had to look up what groundnuts were. We call them peanuts.
That looks like a really nice food plot.
we also call it peanuts too but only after it has been coated with flour mix and ingredients.
Its a fairly large plot and we have covered it up with the plants.
Thanks for checking it out.
That sounds tasty!
You are quite welcome!
Nice post, love the information on groundnut especially for me, their ability to replenish the soil fertility and am looking forward to the groundnut delicacies you talked about in time, thanks.
Wow, am glad you like this... Delicacies coming up soon as we begin harvest.
Thanks for stooping by.
