New start for my Orchids collection

Hi, my dear friends!

Looks like this week will be the opening week! Well, that's great, I don't mind at all. Today, while flipping through my friend feed, I saw this wonderful community. Orchids! My love! Many plans for the further decoration of my garden and yard are connected with orchids. Therefore, today I am writing my first post in this wonderful community and I ask the admins and participants to accept me into their ranks.

Before the war, I had a pretty good collection, but life has the ability to make its own adjustments to our lives. Unfortunately, being in occupation without electricity, water, and heat, I could not keep all my flowers. But I'm not one of those who give up so easily.

Of course, orchids are expensive. It was quite expensive even before the war, but now the prices have literally skyrocketed! Yes, this is not a daily necessity, but a decoration of the house. But... probably this is a feature of the female character, when we girls, even in the most difficult moments, still strive for beauty and grace. And I started looking for options.

I tried to combine the two conditions. First, I wanted to buy flowers so as not to create serious financial difficulties for myself. I decided to allocate a certain amount each month to replenish my orchid collection. At the same time, we must not forget that such capricious ladies as orchids also require specific soil, flowerpots, and fertilizers. The second condition was to support small businesses, not large ones. It is small businesses that are especially vulnerable during a crisis.

Probably my desire was so bright and clear that the Universe heard me. To be honest, I don't even remember who invited me to the Viber group selling orchids. It was my first experience in such a group. Of course, I ordered goods in online stores, but not in Viber. At first, I watched for a long time trying to understand how it works. Here the seller posts photos of flowers with a price, then the group members choose a flower and write the word "reserved". So, what is next?

Finally, I decided to try. I chose the flower I liked, marked the photo, wrote "reserved" and waited. Soon the seller wrote me a personal message in which she confirmed that I was the first to reserve this flower and provided the details for payment. So that's it! All further correspondence was conducted in private messages, so I could not see the entire further purchase process.

First I bought two flowers, then two more. Fortunately, the seller is not too far from me, in a neighboring town, so I personally picked up the flowers so that they would not be injured during shipment.

In these photos you can see the beginning of my new orchid collection. I hope it will be updated regularly. My dogs also showed interest in floriculture, so I had to add photos with them too 😁

With love from Ukraine 💛💙

What beautiful flowers you have acquired and although the war took several away from you, today you can have a few more at home again.

May these orchids continue to bloom and brighten your days.
