Hello to all members of this community and art lovers! Since March 8th, an exhibition has been open at the Chacao Cultural Center (Caracas, Venezuela), featuring more than 50 pieces of art created by Venezuelan and international guest artists. The exhibition opened its doors in commemoration of International Women's Day, and as soon as I could, I went to appreciate the works. Since I'm not an art expert, or anything like that, I'll tell you from my point of view as a spectator who enjoys artistic compositions.

The space where it's located is called The Box and is a room located in the cultural center where they usually hold different exhibitions and events. I had already been to one a while ago that focused on street art, so I already knew the location of the space. I found out about the exhibition thanks to the cultural center's social media, and by the time I attended, the place was practically empty, as it had been open to the public for several months. That, in a way, made me happy because, although I'm happy to know that people come to places like these to see the works, I confess that I enjoy the visits more when I'm alone and without anyone around me 😅

Ever since I started visiting art galleries and art exhibitions, I've become very interested in the different materials that can be used to create a composition: paint, fabric, wood, clay... there are basically no limits when it comes to expressing an idea, and being able to contemplate a piece, seeking not only to interpret its meaning but also to appreciate what the artist used to create it and imagining them in their studio making it, is one of my favorite parts. Among the mixed materials I've seen, I love when they use fabric and thread; it's truly fascinating.

Another thing I loved about the exhibition was the collages. I'd dreamed of making collages for years, but I didn't dare try my hand at one until I discovered the #lmac community and started making digital collages to enter their weekly contests. That's when I began to gain confidence and was also encouraged to make some physical collages, so much so that I now have magazine clippings stored away for when I'm craving a composition. That's why the collages displayed in galleries and museums fill me with enthusiasm.

As for photography, I'm much less knowledgeable in that area. Until I moved to the capital, I hadn't attended exhibitions that featured photography. I can say they're quite fascinating, as most photographers do a brilliant job capturing a scene that leaves you trapped in that moment. I love it when a seemingly everyday photograph makes me stop in front of it and look at it closely. I'd like to learn about photography and be able to give a better opinion in the future.

The montages are another artistic expression that I've been both fascinated and intrigued by. I recorded short videos of some of the displays in the room, considering that a photograph often can't show something that's arranged to be appreciated from different angles.

As if that weren't enough, the exhibition extended to the second floor of the space, so I was excited to see what I would find. After climbing the stairs, I was greeted by more paintings, and at that moment, a couple entered the gallery, so I continued appreciating the works and also listening to their opinions. I like to listen to what people have to say about a work from time to time. Usually, many arrive and leave fairly quickly, but older people, especially, take the time to look at what they have in front of them and comment on something. I wonder if there are artists who sneak into their own exhibitions to hear what visitors have to say... I think it's something I would do 👀

In this room, there were more paintings made with paints and mixed media, collages, sculptures, an incredible portrait done using embroidery, and even a fabulous mural. Without a doubt, these visits to exhibitions always leave me impressed and eager to continue learning more about the artists, as well as discovering my own way of creating something so expressive.

I like to think of these times as a time of searching for knowledge. When I was only able to study for a semester of fine arts, I felt a bit scattered. It's not that I've found my path as an artist, but the motivation I get when I see the work of those dedicated to art, I think, is part of the process of eventually finding my place in this captivating world.

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad y amantes del arte! Desde el día 8 de Marzo se encuentra disponible una exposición ubicada en el Centro Cultural Chacao (Caracas-Venezuela), una exposición en donde se reúnen más de 50 piezas artísticas hechas por venezolanas y artistas internacionales invitadas. La exhibición abrió sus puertas en conmemoración al Día Internacional de la Mujer y en cuanto me fue posible, me acerqué para poder apreciar las obras. Como no soy experta en arte, ni nada de eso, les hablaré desde mi punto de vista cómo espectadora que disfruta las composiciones artísticas😊

El espacio en dónde se encuentra, se llama La caja y es un salón ubicado en el centro cultural en dónde suelen hacer diferentes exposiciones y eventos. Ya había ido hace un tiempo a uno que trataba sobre arte callejero, así que ya sabía la ubicación del espacio. Me enteré sobre la exposición gracias a las redes sociales del centro cultural y para cuando asistí, el lugar estaba prácticamente vacío, ya que tenía ya varios meses a disposición del público. Eso, en cierta forma me alegró ya que, a pesar de que me alegra saber que las personas vienen a sitios como estos a ver las obras, confieso que disfruto más de las visitas cuando me encuentro sola y sin nadie a mi alrededor 😅

Desde que he empezado a visitar las galerías de arte o exposiciones artísticas, me he interesado mucho por los diferentes materiales que pueden utilizarse para plasmar una composición: Pinturas, tela, madera, arcilla... básicamente no hay límites a la hora de expresar una idea y poder contemplar una pieza, buscando no sólo de interpretar su significado, sino poder apreciar qué utilizó el artista para hacerlo e imaginarlo en su taller realizándolo, es una de mis partes favoritas. Entre los materiales mixtos que he visto, me encanta cuando utilizan las telas y los hilos, es realmente fascinante.

Otra de las cosas que me encantó de la exposición, fueron los collages. Hace años soñaba con realizar collages, pero no me atrevía a intentar hacer alguno, hasta que conocí la comunidad #lmac y comencé a hacer unos collages digitales para participar en los concursos que hacían semanalmente. Allí empecé a tener confianza y me animé también a hacer algunos collages físicos, hasta el punto de que actualmente tengo almacenados recortes de revistas para cuando esté antojada de hacer alguna composición. Por eso los collages expuestos en las galerías y museos me llenan de entusiasmo.

En cuanto a los fotografías, soy mucho menos conocedora en ese ámbito. Hasta que me mudé a la capital, no había asistido a exposiciones en donde se hallasen fotografías como protagonistas. Puedo decir que son bastante fascinantes, puesto que la mayoría de los fotógrafos hacen un trabajo brillante a la hora de capturar una escena que te deja atrapado en ese momento. Adoro cuando una fotografía aparentemente cotidiana me hace detenerme en frente de ella, para mirarla detenidamente. Me gustaría aprender sobre fotografía y poder dar una opinión mejor en un futuro.

Los montajes son otras expresiones artísticas con las que he quedado entre fascinada e intrigada. Grabé unos pequeños videos de algunos de los montajes que se encontraban en la sala, considerando que una fotografía muchas veces no puede mostrar algo que está dispuesto para ser apreciado a través de distintos ángulos.

Por si no fuera poco, la exposición se extendía hasta el segundo piso del espacio, así que estaba emocionada por saber qué encontraría. Luego de subir las escaleras, fue recibida por más pinturas y en ese momento, una pareja ingresó en la galería, así que continué apreciando las obras y también estando atenta a sus opiniones. Me gusta escuchar de vez en cuando lo que las personas tienen que decir sobre una obra. Por lo general, muchos llegan y se van bastante rápido, pero las personas mayores, más que nada, si se toman el tiempo para ver lo que tienen ante sus ojos y comentar algo. Me pregunto si habrán artistas que se colarán en sus propias exposiciones para escuchar lo que los visitantes tienen qué decir... creo que es algo que yo haría 👀

En ésta sala, habían más cuadros hechos con pinturas y materiales mixtos, collages, esculturas, un retrato increíble hecho con técnica de bordado y hasta un fabuloso mural. Sin duda, estas visitas a exposiciones siempre me dejan impresionada y con ganas de continuar conociendo más sobre los artistas, así como hallar mi propia forma de realizar algo tan expresivo.

Me gusta pensar en estos tiempos como una época de búsqueda de conocimiento. Cuando pude apenas estudiar un semestre de Artes plásticas, me sentía un tanto dispersa. No es que haya encontrado mi camino como artista, pero la motivación que obtengo cuando veo el trabajo de aquellos que se dedican al arte, pienso que es parte del proceso para, en algún momento, encontrar mi lugar en éste mundo tan cautivador.
