Banana Boating During Rain With Family

Last Sunday I was going with my cousins and grandma to the same place I went two weeks ago. But unlike the previous week, it was raining from the get-go. I was pretty bummed that I wouldn’t be able to take good pictures but my cousins convinced me that we all should just have fun. Afterall, we drove 5 hours from our hometown and it was already a long journey for us.
That time was also a rare moment for me and my cousins as it’s extremely difficult to gather the 4 of us together. We all have a busy life and it has been a while since I hung out with them. To me, I can’t believe that all of us have grown and now we’re all adults. In my eyes, we were all just kids goofing around. I am the eldest in the family and I couldn’t be prouder that all of my other cousins are so accomplished. They were all also the closest family I had and we have an amicable relationship. For this trip, we pooled our money to take our grandma to a vacation. In the past, it was only me but since now, all of them have jobs and are doing well in life, it’s time to share the costs 😀.
When we were kids, our grandparents took us to a lot of vacations and now, we wanted to take our grandma to a vacation we all can afford. It’s certainly nothing as fancy as how she and grandpa took us before but our grandma seemed pretty happy.
On the way to the beach, we talked about the past a lot as the beach was also a place we frequented as kids. We certainly had many memories at the beach. Now, we’re adults, the conversation is suddenly about who we are dating and just some fun or funny things we did when we were kids. One of my cousins is a teacher and we were just pulling his leg as how he’s now called Sir while to me he’s just a little brother that I used to take care of. It was certainly a fun ride to the beach as opposed to what I mostly experience when I am wandering alone.
As soon as we reached the beach, we were pretty bummed to find it was drizzling. Our grandma decided to stay inside the car while 4 of us including my mom, my aunt and my uncle got out of the car. I was already in my bathing suit and was ready to swim despite the weather. But then, my mom decided that we should scout for a place to eat and sit down. The rain was bearable so we walked and while they were looking around, I was taking pictures. At the same time, I was requesting that we should do the banana boat ride.
At the beach, there were people offering their services, which is either a tour with a boat and banana boat. They’re mostly offering the boat tour for the family but my cousins were leaning towards the banana boat and besides the others just wanted to sit down and enjoy the beach. So, we eventually picked the banana boat. One of my cousins can’t swim and even though I persuaded her a lot, it was only me and my two other cousins who were on that banana boat.
I thought banana boating was fun but it’s probably my only one and last time experience. Though the ride was thrilling, at the same time the beach has strong waves and is straight to the Indian ocean. I was afraid that I got pulled by the waves and though I could swim, it was another ball game. My cousins thoroughly enjoyed the ride and wanted to fall a lot of times. By the end of the ride, we had to swim about 15 meters to the shore with constant big waves and it made my arms sore the next day. I normally swim at the pool and slightly calm waves but swimming around bigger waves wasn’t easy and isn’t something I’d love to do. While my other cousins were really enjoying everything and it was okay for the three of us not to have a memory of how it was because it was drizzling and none of our phones were waterproof. But it’s clearly imprinted in our memory of how fun it was.
At the shore, my other cousins were with my aunt and my mom taking a lot of selfies. They seemed to be having a lot of fun. Then it was time for lunch. We decided to bring food from home to also save costs. So, in the morning, my mom was cooking rice and we bought chicken from a restaurant. Each of us got a box of rice and we were happily eating, especially after swimming in the sea. The beach, though raining, was also packed with people & on the way home, I was talking to everyone inside the car that we should do something like this once a month together. I was suggesting some fun places so all of us could go snorkeling or hiking in the mountains. But my mom told me that I should be focusing on moving back home first 😂

Hello dear friend @macchiata good day
What a pity to have driven the vehicle for five hours, and when you arrived at the place where it was raining, it is normal that you felt angry with the situation, the good thing is that everyone was able to meet, despite their busy lives
It's good that all your cousins have believed, and that they have jobs and can help you pay for your grandmother's vacations
What a pleasant experience, having lunch with the family and then having fun on the banana boat, I must admit that I never had the chance to get on it, I don't know how it feels
Thank you very much for sharing this experience. have a great week
@jlufer haha yeah, it's definitely was a bad idea to not check the weather before going there. Thank you for checking this out.

How good they are a united family! 💕. I'm sure your grandmother really enjoyed it! Family time is wonderful!!! I'm glad they were able to share a pleasant moment, I hope it happens again soon 😎.
I miss the beach, in the city where I live there is none ☹️.
@schiogonzalez Oh wow, how far are you from the beach? though mine is really a bit far and was in a different city but they're still in the same province.
Banana boat? I am wishing to experience this someday. Last Sunday we went to the beach and there is a banana boat riding there. We just enjoy watching them scream so loud but we never decided yet to ride and experience it. Maybe someday I could try it.
I am imagining cousins bonding together after a long time. Before you were just kids playing swimming and enjoying the beach but now you have another different adventure to try on.
