Un Cumpleaños en la playa San Luis de Cumaná [Esp / Eng]

El 19 de Septiembre cumplí 24 años de vida, con tantos problemas que pasan, quise despejar mi mente en la playa. Que rico se siente sentarse en la arena, ver la playa y el atardecer. Compartir con tus amigos que tienes actualmente ya que tus otros amigos están fuera del país. Quise sentirme libre y así lo hice, fui a la playa San Luis de Cumaná y te cuento mi experiencia.

On September 19 I turned 24 years old, with so many problems going on, I wanted to clear my mind at the beach. How nice it feels to sit on the sand, and watch the beach and the sunset. Sharing with your friends that you currently have since your other friends are out of the country. I wanted to feel free and so I did, I went to San Luis de Cumaná beach and I will tell you my experience.

Me sentí orgullosa de ser Venezolana, Cumanesa y que lindo poder decir que soy de aquí. Que nací aquí y me crié aquí. Que soy de agua salada, de playa, de arena, de bastante sol y calor. Que soy Caribeña ¡Que orgullo!

Recordé que solo Dios puede darme 6 años para vivir y cumplir mis sueños. Vivir los momentos con tus amistades, reconocer que estás vivo, que respiras y que te puedes mover. Agradecí poder estar viva, sana y con más salud. Que puedo ver los atardeceres, las olas y ver a las personas bañándose. Que plenitud.

I felt proud to be Venezuelan, Cumanesa, and how nice to be able to say that I am from here. That I was born here and raised here. I am from salt water, beach, sand, and plenty of sun and heat that I am Caribbean. How proud I am!

I remembered that only God can give me 6 years to live and fulfill my dreams. To live the moments with your friends, to recognize that you are alive, that you breathe and that you can move. I was grateful to be alive, healthy, and healthier. I can watch the sunsets, and the waves and see people bathing. What a fullness.

Llegamos como a eso de las dos de la tarde con mi grupos de amigos. Siempre tenemos la playa cerca, es barato ir. Hay otra playa que se llama playa los Bordones pero la playa San Luis nos queda más cerca. Aquí ya me olvidé de todos mis pendientes y quise disfrutar de la vida porque estoy viva a pesar de todo y agradecer primeramente.

Por cierto, compraron la famosa Mazorca de Maíz que se suele usar muy versátil en sopas con carne de res y otros ingredientes. Muy sabroso, sin embargo, en la playa nos la dan sola y le echaron mantequilla y sal. Imagínate la mazorca caliente y esa mantequilla derritiéndose ¡Que rico!

La mazorca de maíz es amarilla y se cultiva acá en Venezuela. Sin embargo, he visto que en Perú hay un maíz que se llama maiz morado que crecen principalmente en los Andes de Perú, curioso ¿No? Y también con eso hace hacen la famosa chicha morada que para nosotros los venezolanos es otro tipo de chicha. Somos culturas muy variadas y ricas.

We arrived around two in the afternoon with my group of friends. We always have the beach nearby, it is cheap to go to. There is another beach called Playa los Bordones but Playa San Luis is closer to us. Here I forgot all my worries and wanted to enjoy life because I am alive in spite of everything and thankful first of all.

By the way, they bought the famous corn on the cob, which is very versatile in soups with beef and other ingredients. Very tasty, however, on the beach, they gave it to us alone and they added butter and salt. Imagine the hot corn on the cob and that butter melting, how delicious!

Corn on the cob is yellow and is grown here in Venezuela. However, I have seen that in Peru there is a corn called maiz morado that grows mainly in the Andes of Peru, curious, isn't it? And that is also used to make the famous chicha morada, which for us Venezuelans is another type of chicha. We are very varied and rich cultures.

La playa San Luis, es una playa muy extensa que se encuentra en el Estado Sucre, en la ciudad de Cumaná, donde nací. Cumaná, la llaman la primogénita del continente Americano porque es la primera ciudad fundada por los españoles en América. Es una ciudad que está bañada por el Mar Caribe.

Cómo buena ciudadana, me gustaría que fuera una potencia, que fuera mejor y que sus habitantes fueran mejores ciudadanos. Siempre va haber personas malas y buenas pero creo que los buenos somos más.

San Luis Beach is a very long beach located in Sucre State, in the city of Cumaná, where I was born. Cumaná is called the first-born of the American continent because it is the first city founded by the Spaniards in America. It is a city that is bathed by the Caribbean Sea.

As a good citizen, I would like it to be a power, to be better, and for its inhabitants to be better citizens. There will always be bad people and good people, but I think there are more of us who are good.
