Great Blue Heron

This Great Blue Heron was sitting still for the longest time. I saw it from the top of a ridge, and when I came to the bottom, it was still in the same spot. It stayed this way for quite a while, yet before all of a sudden, almost in slow motion, it started to spread its wings for takeoff. It soon lifted off, and it almost looked unreal the way it started to hover and fly away in slow motion.
