Funny red-wattled lapwing- Smap contest 273

Hello, friends, bird watchers from around the globe, greetings! Hope everybody is doing well, having a good time with loved ones. Today, sharing the bird photos that we always enjoy watching. This is my entry for this time's contest theme announced by host @nelinoeva and the Feathered Friends community.

The red-wattle lapwing Vanellus indicus in Marathi Titavi.

These birds are native to our area and are usually seen in pairs. Sometimes they wander a distance away from their partners in fields or on the ground. They used to make very loud alarm calls, which sound amusingly like the words "Did he do it?" Their behavior is quite amusing as well. We also find them in wetlands, where they gather in large groups. In Marathi, we call them "Titavi." I took three photos in our garden and one close to the salt farm near us. We refer to a very good guidebook from India's birdman, Salim Ali's The Book of Indian Birds. When we need some info, we use it.

Thank you for stopping by.
