McMenamins Edgefield Hotel - A Visual Tour
It was time for another trip across the mountains to return to my old home area and visit family. Since we hadn't stayed here in a couple years we decided to spend the night at McMenamins Edgefield, a former poor farm turned hotel. Follow along as I share some photos from our stay.
Walking up from the parking lot to the main entrance.

A very stately looking old building that was built in 1911.
A couple views looking out from the front porch.
The rooms are pretty basic but do contain some nice old furniture and artwork on the walls. There are no televisions or fridges in the rooms. So you will be scouring the 50 some acres of property for one of several eating places and enjoying the magnificently manicured landscaping.
A large stand of bamboo. Not something you see around these parts too often.
The old tower in the center of the property surrounded by an abundance of lush greenery. More on the tower later in the post as I capture a special night picture.
Seems like a lot of effort went into creating this unique planter wall.
A few shots taken while walking around one of the small gardens.
As I mentioned before there is a lot of art work all over the walls in this building. Here, some inlaid panels on a deck railing. Very creative in my opinion.
An interesting sign post with some not so well known destinations. Are any of these places close to you? 😃
Some brightly colored flowers and someone from the Hive. 😉
A look up toward our room. The window with the fan in it.
And as promised, the moon under the water tower. Finally having to use the restroom at 1:30 am pays some dividends. lol
Tried a night setting on my phone camera for this shot.

Artwork indoors reflections of what happens outdoors, grand old home to visit with amazing gardens around.
Good capture of the moon beneath the tower!
Yep, being old really paid off there. :)
My quiet time, normally an early hour of the morning before hitting the bed.
Nice way of transforming an old farm looks so fashionable but comfortable at the same time 💗 very lovely place.
They've done it to a few other places also. A very nice vision they had. :)
What a beautiful hotel! I'm sure it was a magnificent trip.
It was. Thank you.
The rooms aren't really 5*, but the place is so charming and the grounds so beautiful that it is worth a stay every so often. :)
"Someone from the Hive" ... I see what you did!
As I was curious to see what a poor farm was, I just had to have a look on their website and what a fabulous place, I love how they said ...
hehe my kind of place.
No TVs but they have wifi so no hardship, we actually rarely watch TV unless YouTube now.
Great to see the wee visitor from the Hive in there too with the pretty flowers!
There are also several small watering holes on the grounds. So if your pint runs dry while wandering around a refill station is close at hand.
Yeah, the TV is not missed while there. Too many other things to see and do. ;)
Yeah looks a brilliant place and like you say so much to explore!
