Itchy Feet
Take it easy, take it slow...
Wannabe Silver Bloggers
...well at least most some of the time!
Life as a #silverblogger can be like a rollercoaster ride - full of ups and downs.
Running a home-based side hustle post-retirement does have some benefits.
Waking up to a beautiful day and having itchy feet; unplanned excursions often turn out the best, as I shared last week when we took off to see the hidden treasures at Netherwood Farm in Nottingham Road, KZN Midlands.
The real Silver Bloggers @artywink and me enjoying the sun, fresh air, and, the silence, no need for chitter-chatter!
We really did not want to leave this magical place and took the slow Midlands Meander road on the way back home.
There only was time for one more stop along the way to take home delicious goods from The Daily Bagel Bakery and admire some of the quaint shops.
Needless to say, we will be back as we missed way too much.
Once back on the highway, we had to hold onto our seats as hubby's foot was a tad heavy on the accelerator because I had to be back in time to prep dinner for our young guests.
As we drove into our suburb, hubby mentioned one word - takeaway! Yep, that's what it was going to be as I did not want to end such a sublime day on a rushed note, so off it was to Curry-O's for Bunny Chows which everyone who visits Durban, HAS to experience. Yes eating this typical local dish is quite an experience. A hollowed-out quarter loaf of bread, filled with spicy hot curry, really is delicious, and The Curry O's make the very best curries - Vegan as well as Seafood, Chicken, Beef, and Mutton.
What could be easier, simply placing a neat box filled with a Mutton Bunny on a plate for each of our guests;)
I had quite a bit of admin catch-up to do, so stayed at home later in the week when hubby took our expat guest from Australia, on a fishing trip to Umdoni on the South Coast.
The weather was lovely and the seawater looked perfect, but the guys didn't see any seagulls nor came home with any freshly caught fish. They had to be satisfied with buying fish & chips along the way back.
Hubby took some really nice photos, but where are the fish?
An old railway track - sadly most of our railway lines have been plundered beyond repair, so there are no trains running along our KZN coast anymore, nor many other main lines, although this section still is untouched.
I hope you enjoyed a little glimpse into a week of smooth waters for this Silver Blogger who's wishing you a wonderful new week!

What a relaxing place <3 silver, golden, or ruby, may you never stop exploring this wondrous world and finding neat new places like this one, my friend!
My feet will remain itchy as long as I live, thank goodness for Google Maps reviews as we've found a number of gems lately. Thank you @honeydue 💞
I love knowing you guys get together to hang! And the place sure does look magical. Glad you had the chance to go there. I wish I had Curry O's here. The take out food here is all pretty much inedible.
I'm really lucky having a friend like artywink, we're more like sisters!
You would love the fragrant spicy food of Curry O's 😉

Looks like a very fun little trip! That place seems so peaceful...
I must admit I'll go away from this post with that magical word you mentioned - takeaway. I've got relatives coming over this weekend and I'm already worried about all the cooking involved... Your husband is a very wise man!
It was such an unexpected treat - I thought we were going to a little cafe on a farm, and then found way more.
Takeaways sure can be a lifesaver at times :)
Nice seeing you @ladyrebecca
It looks amazing there, Lizelle! I'm glad you got away on an excursion!
Oh yes! Unplanned and spur of the moment excursions are the best! And LOOK AT THOSE CROISSANTS! OMG. loved the overgrown railway tracks at the end. All in all a magical post. Thank you for sharing ❤️
Thank you so much for the visit @clairemobey, those railway tracks are my favourite image as well! I'm not sure what it's like in the Cape, but here most of the trains don't run any more as the steel and overhead cables are being stolen, just awful :(
Seeing that I've bumped into you, can I ask you to please have a look at my flash sale for Hive Thrifted, as I'd like to share the concept with as many #southafrica bloggers?
Thank you so much, and please give my nephew @therneau and @jusipassetti a big hug from me, AND a nudge to get back Hiving :)

And yes I'm nagging Justine to get back online her blogs are awesome! @jussipassetti nudgenudgewinkwink
