The Rain: It Will Always Take Me Back To The Happiest Time Of my Life, My Childhood
I am 31 years old at the time of writing. I am a woman, who is also the mother of a little girl of 8 years old. A few hours ago it rained in my city, and no matter when you read this, the wonderful phenomenon that is rain will always remind me of the most cherished, beautiful and immensely full of happiness stage that was my childhood. Sometimes, the most elemental, everyday and simple thing is what has the greatest impact on us....
This is precisely what has happened on this occasion, where a rain, derived in a torrential downpour that hit my city, Valencia; and that soaked me from head to toe as I was in the street, returning from the office, my regular job... Without fear of exaggeration, that fact, that it rained was the highlight of my work week. Many of you probably know this, but working in an office environment is one of the most depressing things there is.
In my case it is no different. Anyone could do my job there. What's more, the only thing that differentiates all of us who work there is that there are more women than men. Otherwise, we would be a Soviet cadre; a kind of gray equality where differences and exceptions seem like "forbidden" words. But this post is not about my boring life at work, but about what makes my life somewhat more pleasant.
Raining. I mean, in what country in the world doesn't it rain? I am sure that all of us have stopped to contemplate the raindrops. To see how the intensity of the wind changes little by little and also the effect it has on nature: greening, beautifying everything around it. As a child I discovered my fascination and love for this curious fact (loving the rain) but I didn't have the capacity to be able to detail it, analyze it, express it.
I won't say that I live too much in the past, because I would be lying. However, there are certain little things that take me there immediately. Besides, I don't offer too much resistance to shortcuts to happiness either. My childhood was placid; every day was a summer day. I am the only child of my parents, with also, only one older brother. He and I never had much affinity, but that didn't stop me from playing, having fun and treasuring the best moments I ever experienced.
Especially during the rainy days, which in my country is from May to October, I enjoyed playing with the earth and feeling the changing colors in nature. I was never afraid of thunder or lightning. Also at that time, I discovered Marvel and made the myth of Thor my own and combined it with the comic book hero. So, I was a babe who loved what caused others discomfort. My life today is not terrible but it doesn't nearly have that sparkle it had in the past.
Probably the closest, is raising my daughter and watching her also marvel and be fascinated by the innocence and imagination I once had as well. She doesn't love the rain so much. Yes, she is in that stage where she shies away from water (and showering... Every day is a problem with that little girl). So, yesterday I decided to get out of the office, get wet, not shy away from the rain and risk my cell phone to capture the beauty behind a common phenomenon: with my criteria, my perspective and my vision.
My arrival to Silver Bloggers, was looking for a niche where I could express myself from authenticity and freedom. Thanks to the life I have given with this beautiful community. This is my first post here, I hope you can appreciate it and above all, that you find in the photographs that are here the same connection/beauty that I feel with the rain. I know I'm not the only one, but I wouldn't mind being the only one if I am.

Me gusta tú post!
Para mí, la lluvia es una vía eterna al escape de una realidad, que por momentos, se antoja y se siente como gris...
