水水秋天藝術節 / The Shui Shui Autumn Art Festival

秋意正濃，秋意驅趕了狂野的熱浪了嗎？在這裡好像並沒有，雖然季節已經明顯步入了秋天，不過天氣還是一樣悶熱，好消息是，天氣預報有提到再過幾天，明顯的季風將會帶來雨勢，到時候應該就會感到屬於秋天的涼爽。

一進入市集就看到街頭藝人，藝人打扮成一位五顏六色的小怪物，對來往路人做出各種張牙舞爪等吸引人的動作，哇！逛市集的人比我想像中要多，經過一家陳列各式小木屋夜燈的攤位，忍不住停下腳步，拍了幾張照片，和攤主聊了一下，它的商品幾乎都以日式風格的小木屋為主，小木屋以深褐或淡木色為主調，屋脊線條柔和且具有弧度，有木框與和紙材質製成的日式拉門或推窗，燈光中帶著溫暖舒服的氛圍，價錢稍高一些，落在五百到一千元台幣的區間。

經過一間賣毛絨絨的布偶的攤位，圍著不少年輕女生在挑選商品，我猜毛絨布偶商品之所以令人著迷，除了布偶可愛的外表之外，那份觸碰時的柔軟感觸更是無可取代，特別是以絨毛布料製成的布偶包，不僅外型逗趣，其觸感更讓人忍不住想伸手撫摸，還有肩背包、手提包及側背包等款式，但是，這類包或許會帶些孩子氣。

在和一位攤主對上眼之後，她就開始向我輸出一串的商品資訊，像是它的商品是採用黃麻製作，黃麻在台灣沒有栽種了，只有印度有在種植，需要在印度製作，黃麻具有天然、可分解及低碳排放等特性，使用黃麻製成的包袋，不僅能取代塑膠袋的使用，減少一次性垃圾，還能展現對環境友善的生活態度，我認同環保的理念，但是，我真的對黃麻包沒興趣，只能露出尷尬的笑容，慢慢地轉身離開了。

之前我的文章就提過水水市集，水水市集是常態性的活動，這個秋天藝術節就是相關品牌的非常態性活動，秋天藝術節的攤商比較有規模，因為使用室內場地，攤位費較高，假如商品品項不夠多、不夠吸引人的話，不一定會想到這裡擺攤，我覺得只要慢慢逛的話，很多攤主都很樂意和顧客交流，不買的話，加一下店家的社群帳號，店家也會很開心。

The feeling of autumn is supposed to be in full swing. Has it really chased away the wild summer heat? It doesn’t seem so here. Even though the season has clearly shifted into autumn, the weather is still just as hot and stuffy. The good news is that the weather forecast mentioned that in a few days, the seasonal winds will bring rain, and when that happens, we should finally feel that cool, refreshing autumn air.

As soon as I walked into the market, I saw a street performer dressed as a colorful little monster, making dramatic gestures to attract the crowd. Wow! There were way more people than I expected. I passed a stall displaying various miniature wooden house night lights and couldn’t help stopping to take a few photos. I chatted with the vendor for a bit. Most of their products were designed in a Japanese-style cabin aesthetic. The houses were mainly in dark brown or light wood tones, with softly curved rooftops, wooden frames, and shoji-style paper sliding doors or windows. Under the warm lighting, they looked incredibly cozy and inviting. The prices were a bit on the higher side, ranging from NT$500 to NT$1,000.

Next, I came across a stall selling fluffy plush dolls, surrounded by many young women carefully picking through the items. I guess the charm of plush toys isn’t just in their cute appearance but also in that irresistibly soft and comforting texture when you touch them. Especially those plush bags made of furry fabric—not only are they adorably quirky, but their softness just makes you want to keep touching them. There were shoulder bags, handbags, and crossbody styles, though I have to admit, this type of bag might come off as a bit childish.

Then I made eye contact with another vendor, and she immediately began introducing her products. She said her bags were made from jute, which is no longer grown in Taiwan and can only be sourced and manufactured in India. Jute is natural, biodegradable, and has low carbon emissions. Using jute bags can replace plastic bags, reduce single-use waste, and reflect an eco-friendly lifestyle. While I totally agree with the environmental concept, I honestly had no interest in jute bags. So, I just gave an awkward smile and slowly backed away.

In an earlier article, I mentioned the Shui Shui Market, which is a regular event. This Autumn Arts Festival, however, is a special, non-regular market featuring related brands. The vendors here are on a larger scale because it’s held indoors, and the stall fees are higher. If a brand doesn’t have enough products or attractive offerings, they might not be willing to set up here. I think if you take your time strolling around, many vendors are happy to chat with visitors. Even if you don’t buy anything, just following their social media accounts can make them very pleased.
