Abandoned Vintage 1950s House
This is a house that sits beside an abandoned house/doctor's office, that has been abandoned for decades. While exploring the doctor's house I had always admired the look of this house. There was extensive landscape and garden work put into the front yard and driveway. Adding to the cozy feel that it gave off.
The house was built by a newlywed couple in 1953. The husband an engineer and the wife a secretary. They lived in the home, raising four children and then enjoying their golden years. The husband passed away in 2022 at the age of 92 and the wife followed shortly after, in Jan 2023. By May 2023, the land was purchased by a development company who will be constructing a condo building on the lot.
It looks like most features were kept original, unfortunately vandals in the area are very fast and there is a lot of damage inside.
On the second floor, the master bedroom had a feature that I had never seen before. Rather than an on suite bathroom, it had an on suite kitchen!
The tile work on the rest of the floor was very interesting!
The main floor looked like it was very cozy and vintage while lived in. The retro aesthetic looks like it would have been incredible!
There was at least one mirror in every room, all of which had been smashed. Which makes this bathroom intact an incredible find! Why would vandals destroy all the mirrors throughout the house but leave this room alone?
The basement looked like it was mostly used as a workshop.
This was a really fun and interesting house! I wish I could have seen it before the vandalism! But even in it's current state, is an amazing explore!
