Abandoned jetty

IMG_8740.jpg

The bank of the Volga in the Ulyanovsk region. Once upon a time there was a settlement of miners who extracted minerals called oil shale. They mined them in horizontal adits. The settlement was called Slantsevy Rudnik. But the deposit dried up, or maybe the need for such minerals disappeared, and mining was stopped. This happened somewhere in the middle of the last century. The settlement was connected to other settlements in the summer by water - a passenger ship sailed here. And accordingly, there was a pier. Now this pier is in an abandoned state, and surprisingly, various metal units, which weigh a lot, have not been stolen from it. And therefore, it is very profitable to hand them over for recycling. But that is not the point. Thanks to a combination of circumstances - the time of year, the weather, the lighting, etc. - the footage from this location turned out to be quite interesting, and evokes thoughts of the post-apocalypse. Although, perhaps it just seems to me.😁
