Dúo Iris (es/en)

Qué alegría para las nuevas generaciones de música encontrar un dúo como este, el dúo Iris, que viene de una cuna del municipio especial Isla de la Juventud, integrado por dos voces y una guitarra, voz femenina y masculina, capaces de ganarse el público a golpe de canciones, de creación, de sacrificio, con más de cuatro acordes, puerta poesía fuera de lo comercial.

Esa es la música que trasciende de generación en generación, la que queda, la que hace llorar, la que vive al calor de las historias más sinceras, un concierto sin precedentes, el que acabamos de presenciar y que aviva la esperanza de los que como yo hacemos música a diario y que intentamos no hacer más de lo mismo.

Una voz mágica, femenina, tan dulce que casi puedes palpar el sentimiento, una claridad inmensurable, una voz masculina de registro medio y atrevida al mismo tiempo, ya que era capaz de alcanzar notas en falsetes, un empaste vocal increíble y muy identitario, un repertorio escogido al detalle, agradecimientos que llovían en cada expresión, aplausos en cada mesa, pared y asiento de esta pequeña sala de teatro que lleva por nombre la Edad de Oro.

Dentro de las canciones que cantaron muchas fueron de su autoría, como "Haciendo fe", "Despierta", entre las más destacadas, también muy innato el sentimiento con el que cantaron una canción que le hicieron a su humilde isla, también interpretaron Quien fuera, una canción de Silvio Rodríguez y que Jorge Aragón le hizo un arreglo muy peculiar para la interpretación de este dúo y para concluir lo hicieron con una canción de Pablo Milanés, un cantautor tan querido en nuestra provincia.

También hablaron mucho sobre las experiencias que han podido vivir al calor de Buena fe, tanto en las giras que hicieron por Cuba, como los conciertos que han podido ir como artistas invitados y lo agradecido que están con este dúo por siempre abrirle las puertas, no solo a ellos sino también a muchos de los dúos que van iniciando en este duro mundo de la música.

Por supuesto que las fotos con estos jóvenes, pero grandes artistas, no podían faltar, tiempo para unas breves palabras, el concejo para el aliento y la constancia del apoyo y la ayuda, derroche de sencillez y humildad y por mi parte solo pude agradecer y dejarle claro que tenemos una cita pendiente en el escenario.

Es difícil a veces el camino al ver instituciones televisivas y de radio apoyar y promover vulgaridades de canciones o simplemente promover música de artistas que le huyen al escenario y a todos los sueños que nacen en él, es difícil a veces creer que lo estás haciendo bien y cuando la mayoría están completamente en otro camino, caminos plagados de bakgraon lejos de la guitarra, covers reconocidos, amistades hipócritas de conveniencia, puertas tan abiertas para muchos y las mismas puertas cerradas para otros, a veces simplemente es difícil lidiar con tanto mal.

Pero el arte siempre sale a flote y el dúo iris es una clara evidencia de ello, agradecido por el hermoso concierto que acabamos de presenciar y convencido de que algún día coincidiremos en el escenario.

This is the music that transcends from generation to generation, the one that remains, the one that makes you cry, the one that lives in the heat of the most sincere stories, an unprecedented concert, the one we have just witnessed and that revives the hope of those who, like me, make music every day and try not to do more of the same.

A magical, feminine voice, so sweet that you can almost feel the feeling, an immeasurable clarity, a male voice of medium register and daring at the same time, as it was able to reach notes in falsettos, an incredible and very identitary vocal filling, a repertoire chosen in detail, thanks that rained in every expression, applause on every table, wall and seat of this small theater hall that bears the name of the Golden Age.

Among the songs they sang many were of their own authorship, such as "Haciendo fe", "Despierta", among the most outstanding, also very innate the feeling with which they sang a song that they made to their humble island, they also interpreted Quien fuera, a song by Silvio Rodríguez and that Jorge Aragón made a very peculiar arrangement for the interpretation of this duo and to conclude they did it with a song by Pablo Milanés, a singer-songwriter so beloved in our province.

They also talked a lot about the experiences they have been able to live in the heat of Buena fe, both in the tours they did in Cuba, as well as the concerts they have been able to go as guest artists and how grateful they are with this duo for always opening the doors, not only to them but also to many of the duos that are starting in this tough world of music.

But art always emerges and the iris duo is a clear evidence of that, grateful for the beautiful concert we just witnessed and convinced that someday we will coincide on stage.
