Iglesia de Jesús de Miramar: la epidermis que cautiva miradas 🇪🇸 🇬🇧

La Quinta Avenida es la vía más conocida y legendaria del reparto Miramar, en La Habana, y considerada por muchos, la más bella de Cuba. La abrazan parques con árboles que rebasan un siglo de vida, mansiones, embajadas, centros comerciales y de negocio, clubes de playa, y no pueden faltar sus iglesias.

Hoy les comparto, unas fotos que le tomé, a la Iglesia de Jesús de Miramar. Un lugar imponente de culto; la segunda más grande del país; ubicado en calle 82, cerca del hotel Comodoro.

Sus puertas estaban cerradas al público, por los días asignados de luto, tras el fallecimiento del papa Francisco.

Me encanta su techo a dos aguas, su cruz apuntando al cielo, y su cúpula octogonal con sus 24 ventanas en arco, donde cada día besan los rayos del sol. Es la segunda cúpula más grande de la ciudad, después de la del Capitolio.

A su derecha, se erige una hermosa gruta artificial, donde se encuentran varios bancos para que las personas dejen fluir sus pensamientos espirituales con fe hacia la virgen Nuestra Señora de Lourdes (Patrona de los enfermos), y que es un auspicio de la Virgen María, madre de Jesús de Nazaret.

Aunque sus cimientos se iniciaron en 1948, sus puertas se abrieron al público en 1953, gracias a los proyectistas Guido Sutter y Eugenio Cosculluela.

Mientras tomaba fotos en plena tarde, se aproximó una pareja de turistas provenientes de España, que caminaban por la acera. Me preguntaron, si era cierto, que en su interior se encontraba un instrumento musical único en Cuba. Les dije que era cierto, que se referían al Órgano de tubos, ese implemento donde el paso del aire por los conductos de metal, producen unas notas maravillosas que, sumado a la acústica del lugar, endulzan el entorno y el alma de los presentes.

En otra ocasión tomaré fotos del interior de la iglesia, para que la conozcan y puedan apreciar su encanto y ciertos detalles de su historia.

Hoy les mostré su lado externo, esa epidermis que cautiva las miradas, con su bello estilo neorrománico-bizantino que sus arquitectos le plasmaron, y que es admirada por cada persona que transita o deambula por la gran Quinta Avenida y sus aceras. Gracias a los que me leyeron.

Jesús de Miramar Church: the epidermis that captivates glances

Fifth Avenue is the most famous and legendary thoroughfare of Miramar, in Havana, and is considered by many to be the most beautiful in Cuba. It is embraced by parks with trees that are over a century old, mansions, embassies, shopping and business centers, beach clubs, and its churches.

Today I share with you some pictures I took of the Jesús de Miramar Church. An imposing place of worship; the second largest in the country; located on 82nd street, near the Comodoro hotel.

Its doors were closed to the public, due to the assigned days of mourning, after the death of Pope Francis.

I love its gabled roof, its cross pointing to the sky and its octagonal dome with 24 arched windows, where every day the sun's rays kiss. It is the second largest dome in the city, after the Capitol.

To its right, a beautiful artificial grotto is erected, where several benches are located for people to let their spiritual thoughts flow with faith towards the Virgin Our Lady of Lourdes (Patroness of the Sick), and which is an auspice of the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus of Nazareth.

Although its foundations were begun in 1948, its doors were opened to the public in 1953, thanks to the planners Guido Sutter and Eugenio Cosculluela.

While I was taking pictures in the middle of the afternoon, a couple of tourists from Spain approached me, walking along the sidewalk. They asked me if it was true that inside was a unique musical instrument in Cuba. I told them that it was true, that they were referring to the Pipe Organ, that implement where the passage of air through the metal ducts, produce wonderful notes that, added to the acoustics of the place, sweeten the environment and the soul of those present.

On another occasion I will take pictures of the interior of the church, so that you can get to know it and appreciate its charm and certain details of its history.

Today I showed you its external side, that epidermis that captivates the eyes, with its beautiful neo-Romanesque-Byzantine style that its architects gave it, and that is admired by every person who walks or wanders along the great Fifth Avenue and its sidewalks. Thanks to those who read me.
