Standing in front of the (empty) sarcophagus of Saint-Germain is a truly unique experience. The atmosphere, filled with history and spirituality, transports visitors through the centuries. Since the 5th century, the oratory of Saint-Maurice has housed the tomb of the saint, who passed away in Ravenna in 448, within the court of Empress Galla Placidia.

It's fascinating to think that this sacred place has witnessed so many historical and spiritual events over the centuries. The presence of the empty sarcophagus adds a mysterious dimension, prompting imagination and reflection on the passage of time.

Se tenir devant le sarcophage (vide) de Saint-Germain est une expérience véritablement unique. L'atmosphère chargée d'histoire et de spiritualité transporte les visiteurs à travers les siècles. Depuis le 5^ème siècle, l'oratoire Saint-Maurice abrite le tombeau du saint, décédé à Ravenne en 448, au sein de la cour de l'impératrice Galla Placidia.
