Albania: A Rising Tourist Destination! (Part 8)

After seeing various ruins, we arrive at the small Byzantine church called Dormition of the Mother of God.

Due to its history and location, this church holds great significance both religiously and culturally. It bears witness to the antiquity of Christian presence in the region and the influence of the Byzantine Empire. Moreover, it is often a pilgrimage site for Orthodox believers and a point of interest for tourists fascinated by history and architecture.

Given its historical and religious importance, the church frequently attracts visitors (including us!), including Orthodox pilgrims, historians, archaeologists, and enthusiasts of art and architecture.

Après avoir vu différents vestiges nous arrivons dans la petite église byzantine appelée Dormition-de-la-Mère-de-Dieu.

En raison de son histoire et de son emplacement, cette église revêt une grande importance à la fois sur le plan religieux et culturel. Elle témoigne de l'ancienneté de la présence chrétienne dans la région et de l'influence de l'Empire byzantin. De plus, elle est souvent un lieu de pèlerinage pour les fidèles orthodoxes et un site d'intérêt pour les touristes intéressés par l'histoire et l'architecture.

Au vu de son importance historique et religieuse, l'église attire souvent des visiteurs (dont nous !), notamment des pèlerins orthodoxes, des historiens, des archéologues et des amateurs d'art et d'architecture.
