Fieldfare / Räkättirastas ("Räksä") // Turdus Pilaris :: Daily and Fresh 📷 (82/366)
Hey!
This morning I took the camera with me when I went to give Ninnu her morning walk.
The forest was teeming with bird songs, but I wasn't able to spot one singing bird.
Suddenly I found some fieldfares. They don't really have a singing voice, they merely chatter, but they are plentiful where we live, so I ended up shooting them having no better subjects at hand.

Räksä

Ninnu
Ninnu is always a nice subject to photograph, but this time she had hair in her eyes so I don't think it was really an amazing shot. Nice, but not a winner. Not this time anyway.
The weather is really nice now, so I think I might be able to go for a bird shoot again soon.
Oh, and I must remember to stock up on allergy meds. It's that time of the year again.
See you guys again soon!

This birds are very similarly to sparrow, every shot is very sharpe and clear vision on it, excellent photography.
Sparrows (Passeridae family) are much smaller though. They weigh from 24 to 40 grams, whilst a Fieldfare is more than double the size, and usually weighs around 110 grams.
While sparrows and fieldfares are both Passerines, as they both belong to the order Passeriformes, the Fieldfare (Turdus pilaris) is of the thrush family Turdidae, and Sparrows are the family Passeridae.
Nice fat bird! They are not afraid of people. Ninnu needs a haircut under lockdown. The weather looks much nicer now!

I've been shooting photos of birds for a while now, and I always check which bird it is before posting, so I've already learned quite a lot in these last few years. Although Vera (my wife) still knows quite a lot more about birds than myself.
