Catching my breath
I decided to do something a bit crazy this week. Long ago, I asked for some time off from the library in October so I could so... Something. I had no definite plans, but I wanted a break, and I figured inspiration would strike.
Strike it did.
I went on a poorly-planned road trip through Washington and the Columbia River gorge separating that state from Oregon, spending a little time on both shores. I'll have some posts to write later. I made a few PeakD Snaps along the way, too. Take a look there if you want. Here's a photo I shared that way earlier:
Once I have time to go through the rest of my snapshots and write some proper posts, I'll cover at least a couple museums I visited. A lot of the trip was just driving wherever inspiration struck, and not documenting much photographically. Watch this blog, because there's more to come!
For now, I'd like to say something about driving in downtown Portland, Oregon, but they say if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. So instead, I'll share some of the post rewards with people who make good comments thanks to the CommentRewarder project. What's your best travel story or your worst city to drive? Sometimes taking an unplanned trip and driving wherever life takes you isn't that bad. Plan's often gets disrupted anyway. The main reason I don't do it is because I like to know where I'm staying every night when I'm travelling in case I get stuck out in the sticks. But during daytime, I wander here and there without much plan.
Good to hear you are getting some R&R, I hope you enjoyed your trip.
My sister wants to buy a camper van and me to go with her for a month long trip, she wants to go to Massachusetts and Maine with no plans, when we find something we like we will stop. I love road trips with her.
Luckily I am always a passenger but I have to give my daughter credit for her driving in NYC and Downtown Boston, in Boston people kept honking at us and she was doing nothing wrong. The next day I noticed our rental car had Florida tags.

I have driven in Minneapolis/St. Paul a long time ago and did not enjoy it one bit. But my young daughter was in the Children's Hospital and I had to do it. I survived. And she recovered.
