The Ripple Effect in Psychology
Good day dear community, I hope you have a pleasant week which is full of interesting experiences! In my new post I would like to go into a psychological topic and hope you are able to expand your knowledge.
The ripple effect is a good example of the fact that even small things can trigger great reactions and the name is derived from the word ripples for waves we and refers to the fact that when a stone is thrown into the water, it creates waves that can spread in all directions. Already in ancient cultures it came through this effect that legends had arisen and if someone should have seen a certain being or other things it did not take long until this person went to others and reported about it and this drew further circles until it even came to the emergence of legends and even when it came to the transmission of messages, it was often enough to send messengers to other countries who reported on certain scenarios that have spread quickly. It was a basis for networks for the transmission of information and already the trading family Fugger recognised this and created a large network of messengers and here it could be observed how one messenger brings a stone into roll and the information was transmitted from one to the next and not without reason, the messenger network was one of the most important foundations for the economic growth of the Fugger family and this network could be used strategically to gain political influence or change the markets. It is a well-known phenomenon that is also known under other names and is seen in different areas of life and it can also refer to problems that affect the environment or messages that are passed on through contact with other people. A very obvious and sad example of this effect is the extinction of species in nature and since plants are dependent on insects, they have a huge problem when the number shrinks and because one is dependent on the other, there is a disruption of the entire chain. It is also often seen in the field of the media and when a story comes among people, it is more unknown at the beginning until it makes more and more waves and in some areas such as marketing where it is about finding strategies to promote products, one makes targeted use of it and through the ripple effect a chain reaction arises which makes more and more circles and this phenomenon must be considered quite individually and can be seen in many areas.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new about psychology! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens.
