The Parasol Mushroom

Hey everyone, at the beginning I hope you are all doing well and you have a week which is full of interesting experiences! In my new article I would like to go into more detail about an interesting mushroom and I am happy if you can expand your knowledge.

You can see here are pictures of the Parasol mushroom which is also known under the scientific name Macrolepiota procera and typical is the shape which is somewhat reminiscent of a parasol or umbrella and the season begins in summer and lasts until autumn and of course the weather always has a strong influence on the growth. It is one of the larger types of mushrooms and the still unopened mushroom has a look that is somewhat reminiscent of a timpani mallet and after it has opened, a ring remains on the stem which is slightly movable and the stem has a appearance which is somewhat reminiscent of the skin of a snake and are still white at a young age and later become cream in color. Parasol mushrooms are edible and a true delicacy, but you should always make sure to never consume the mushrooms raw and to heat them and it is best to prepare them in the period after collecting and if you should not eat them on the same day, you can put them in the refrigerator or other cooler place so that you can make sure that the quality is maintained. In general, it can be said that it should be consumed within three days and even if opinions are divided here, it is possible to freeze the mushroom and prepare it later and the taste is really unique and reminiscent of nuts and the consistency is soft and juicy.

With sensitive people it can come to problems if you should not heat it enough and to avoid this problem, you should cook it rather too long than too short and here there are different recipes to prepare them and I personally like them fried. It is usually found in places which have nutrient-rich soils and areas of mixed forests can be interesting and often you can find it inconspicuously near forests on the edges or the surrounding meadows and when collecting, you should always make sure that it is really this fungus and if you are not sure, you should ask someone for additional advice or not prepare them because there are also some poisonous species with which you can confuse it! Toxic doubles can often be recognized by the strange smell and especially high is the risk of confusion in the young stage before the hat has opened and with partners of confusion in the open state is the ring not so easy to move as well as the trunk is not chattered and with other partners of confusion also the color changes when it is touched or has a different size. This mushroom can also be found in mythology and there are legends that fairies or other mythical creatures have stayed in the places where this mushroom grows and already in ancient cultures, it had an important meaning and was used in rituals and associated with secret knowledge or enlightenment.
