Nosean Mineral
Good day dear Hive community, first of all I would like to wish you all a pleasant day and please you are all well! In my new post, I would like to introduce a mineral in more detail and hope you can learn something new.
You can see here the mineral Nosean which also belongs to the mineral class of silicates and germanates and it is a rare mineral that is particularly interesting under collectors. The formation of Nosean can be traced back to volcanic activities and was first found in 19. Century and named by the German mineralogist Martin Heinrich Klaproth (1743 - 1817) who is also known to have discovered other elements such as uranium or titanium and he named the mineral to honor the doctor Karl Wilhelm Nose (1753 - 1835). The appearance can vary and the color is white, gray, brown and the crystals have a glass-like surface and are translucent to transparent and it tends to form twins. The change of color can be related to the influence of admixtures with other minerals and a high content of iron can ensure that the color turns gray or blue. Due to the rarity, it is not of economic interest and worldwide it has only been found in 60 different locations and among the best known are Switzerland, Italy, Australia, USA or Russia and it is often found together with other minerals such as sodalite, leucite or zircon.
Many thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new about minerals! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens!
Its appearance is reflecting its properties clearly.
