I am here too

A few days ago I introduced Trixy to you, we celebrated her sixteenth birthday, but this young kitty has a sister, and since she was jealous because I hadn't introduced her, I decided to dedicate a post to her too.

Girls and boys, I present to you Lucy

We were chosen

No phrase was ever so accurate!

This beautiful cat has a particular little story: a few years ago, about 4, at the beginning of spring, she appeared in our garden, but these were occasional visits, she would take a little walk, we would give her some kibble and a few cuddles, then she would disappear.
It went on like this for a while, then she decided to stay nearby, she would come into the house, but she wouldn’t stay, her world was outside.

Love had blossomed

An important decision

This went on for almost a year, she wanted nothing to do with staying comfortable inside the house.
She had stayed outside all winter, and around here seasonal temperatures are not very warm, yet nothing, stubbornness prevailed.
We had prepared a comfort zone for her, a soft and fairly warm kennel, a blanket, and a refreshment area with food and water. In some way, we had tried to protect her as much as possible.

Finally a new spring

Once the cold passed, the outdoor coexistence continued, until we went on vacation. I want to say that we didn't abandon her, we had given our neighbor the task of looking after her, our neighbor is a pet lover too.

Anxious to hug both Trixy and Lucy again, we had a shock as soon as we returned: Lucy was gone. Imagine the sorrow and the bad feeling, by now she had entered our hearts.

An unexpected surprise!

After a few days she came back to us, what happiness! We cuddled her, showered her with affection, and to reward her, we let her find a banquet of feline delicacies.

Time passed and October arrived, the first cold evenings were making themselves felt. Given the previous winter, we had already set up the comfort zone, but here came the surprise, a very welcome one!

One evening, completely on her own, she came in and, with a decisive step, went towards the sofa, climbed onto it, settled down, and from there she spent the whole winter in the warmth. Sure, she still took her little walks in the garden, but at least she spent more time near the radiators.

From that day on, she became a house cat, the four of us sleep in the big bed together, she loves to lie on my legs when I am at the computer, and she loves to be picked up and warmed up after winter walks.
The family had expanded and Trixy had welcomed her too; she wasn't thrilled, I told you about Trixy's little attitude, but the coexistence worked.

The little one's identity card

In truth, we call her "the little one" because when we found her she was tiny, but after a vet check, the doctor confirmed to us that maybe she wasn’t as young as we thought. According to the analysis, the young lady was already between 6 and 7 years old, and we thought she was one and a half or at most two, but her growth, as the doctor defined it, was due to well-being.

We don't really know the breed, she was a stray, but she is a tortoiseshell, so defined by the colors of her coat: she has fur that goes from black to brown without real distinctions, intense yellow eyes, and a very thin little tail.

The name, a diminutive

Lucy is a diminutive, it is inspired by Lucifer. The reason why? She was a real little demon: even though she was smaller than the circle of cats around here, she kept them all at bay, she would get into a fighting stance on her hind legs and, like a professional boxer, she would throw paw strikes at everyone. Just think that when we gave out food outside, she would drive everyone else away with blows.

She had to defend herself, she was alone in the world, but now she has completely changed: she is extremely tender, she purrs continuously and now that it is summer, when we are under the gazebo, she lies on our feet and cuddles by rubbing against us. Love can change everything.

So I have introduced my second "little daughter" to you too!

Now I leave you and go to cuddle the two girls, wishing you much joy with your furry friends.

Your zumzulik
