Co robić w poniedziałek w Brnie? / What to do on Monday in Brno?

Nie daję odpocząć Republice Czeskiej. Zbyt dużo ma do zaoferowania. Jak wiadomo w poniedziałki prawie wszystkie muzea i galerie są zamknięte. Mimo wszystko zawsze można znaleźć coś ciekawego. Zwłaszcza w takim mieście jak Brno. Miałam okazję spędzić tam jeden dość pochmurny i chłodny majowy poniedziałek. 

Oczywiście zawsze na początku pojawia się problem czym najlepiej dojechać. My wybraliśmy auto ponieważ z Wrocławia nie jest to jakoś specjalnie daleko. Natomiast ta opcja zawsze rodzi kolejny problem "gdzie zaparkować?". Nie chcieliśmy pchać się do centrum, więc wybraliśmy strefę, w której parkowanie w tygodniu do 18.00 jest darmowe. W dodatku blisko atrakcji, którą chciałam zobaczyć, czyli Domu Lubo Kristka, o którym pisałam tutaj

I don't let the Czech Republic rest. It has too much to offer. As you know, almost all museums and galleries are closed on Mondays. Nevertheless, you can always find something interesting. Especially in a city like Brno. I had the opportunity to spend one rather cloudy and chilly Monday in May there.

Of course, there is always the problem of how best to get there. We chose a car because it is not particularly far from Wrocław. However, this option always raises another problem of ‘where to park?’. We didn't want to push into the centre, so we chose a zone where parking is free during the week until 6pm. In addition, it's close to the attraction I wanted to see, the Lubo Kristek House, which I wrote about here

Bardzo blisko jest ulica Merhautova, z której można tramwajem dojechać do centrum. My wysiedliśmy na przystanku Česká.

Very close by is Merhautova Street, from where you can get to the centre by tram. We got off at the Česká stop.

And straight away we came across some interesting monuments

Po drodze był jeszcze zegar astronomiczny, pod którym już zgromadził się tłum ludzi polujących na wypadającą z niego szklaną kulkę punktualnie o 11.00. Niestety nie zrobiłam żadnego zdjęcia aparatem... dla ciekawych napiszę tylko, że zegar przypomina... ghmh... ekhm... no pocisk.

Potem była klasyka, czyli Ratusz, krokodyl i Targ Kapuściany

On the way there was also the astronomical clock, under which a crowd of people had already gathered to hunt for the glass ball falling out of it at 11 a.m. Unfortunately, I did not take any photos with my camera.... For the curious, I'll just write that the clock resembles.... ghmh... ekhm... well, a bullet.

Then there were the classics, i.e. the Town Hall, the crocodile and the Cabbage Market

Na targu można było kupić owoce, warzywa czy też sadzonki, ale ja zrobiłam zdjęcie fontanny.

Brno mnie zaciekawiło jeśli chodzi o rzeźby. Wydaje mi się, że rzeźby w Czechach generalnie są dużo ciekawsze niż w Polsce. Poniżej kilka rzeźb, które mnie zaciekawiły.

At the market you could buy fruit, vegetables or seedlings, but I took a picture of the fountain.

Brno made me curious about the sculptures. It seems to me that sculptures in the Czech Republic are generally much more interesting than in Poland. Below are a few sculptures that I found interesting.

Moje spojrzenie na to miasto może trochę odbiegać od normy, bo przecież jest też piękna katedra i zamek, ale nie będzie nic o nich w tym wpisie.

Znalazłam natomiast mozaiki, które zawsze sprawiają mi radość.

My view of the city may deviate a little from the norm, as there is also a beautiful cathedral and castle, but there will be nothing about them in this post.

Instead, I found the mosaics, which always make me happy.

Wiadomo, że kolejnym problemem turysty w mieście oprócz tego "gdzie zaparkować?" jest jeszcze pytanie "gdzie zjeść?". Nie mam zbyt dużego porównania, ale napiszę gdzie ja byłam.

Na gulasz z knedlikiem poszliśmy do Stopkova Plzeňská Pivnice. Wystrój ciekawy, jedzenie w porządku, ceny przystępne. Na kawie byliśmy w Kafe v Rozkladu. Bardzo ciekawy wystrój na dole, na górze trochę gorzej. Kawa ok, ale tradycyjnie był problem z zamówieniem dużej kawy. Jakbym była ponownie w Brnie, to raczej bym szukała jeszcze innego miejsca.

Co jeszcze w Brnie w poniedziałek można zobaczyć? Na pewno nie willę Tugendhatów wpisaną na listę UNESCO. Po pierwsze w ten dzień jest zamknięta, a po drugie trzeba wcześniej mieć rezerwację i kupić bilet. Z zewnątrz, że tak powiem "szału nie ma", zresztą przez płot niewiele widać. Ale warto się przejść po okolicy i pooglądać inne wille oraz zajrzeć na ulicę Schodową.

It is well known that another problem for a tourist in the city besides ‘where to park?’ is the question ‘where to eat?’. I don't have much of a comparison, but I will write where I have been.

For goulash with dumplings we went to Stopkova Plzeňská Pivnice. The décor was interesting, the food OK, the prices reasonable. For coffee, we went to Kafe v Rozkladu. Very interesting decor downstairs, a little worse upstairs. Coffee ok, but traditionally there was a problem with ordering a large coffee. If I were in Brno again, I would rather look for another place.

What else is there to see in Brno on a Monday? Certainly not the UNESCO-listed Tugendhat villa. Firstly, it is closed on this day and secondly, you need to have a reservation and buy a ticket in advance. From the outside, so to speak, ‘it's not crazy’, moreover, you can't see much through the fence. But it's worth taking a walk around the area to see the other villas and take a look at Stair Street.

A całkiem niedaleko jest kawiarnia ERA, mogłabym napisać, że "kultowa", ale nie lubię tego słowa.

Niestety w poniedziałek była zamknięta również willa Jurkoviča, którego dzieła już pokazywałam w swoich postach

We, on the other hand, went for coffee at the usual cafe next door.

No i na koniec zostawiłam najciekawsze. Oczywiście jest to subiektywne bardzo, bo co dla mnie ciekawe dla kogoś innego niekoniecznie. Poza ścisłym centrum, na blokowisku, niedaleko pętli tramwajowej znajduje się taki oto budynek

Well, I have left the most interesting for last. Of course, this is very subjective, because what is interesting to me is not necessarily interesting to someone else. Outside the very centre, in a block of flats, not far from the tram terminus, there is this building

Nie, nie jest to browar, co byłoby typowe dla Czechów, ale kościół.

Mieliśmy to szczęście, że udało nam się zajrzeć do środka. Mogliśmy też porozmawiać z zakonnicą, która powiedziała, że kościół w całości został zbudowany z datków. Wnętrze nie jest jeszcze do końca urządzone.

We were lucky enough to be able to have a look inside. We were also able to talk to a nun who told us that the church was built entirely from donations. The interior is not yet fully decorated.

Ciekawy i odważny projekt. Niestety nie udało się nam wejść na wieżę kościoła. W każdym razie polecam pojechać i zobaczyć.
