Most times we think all we need is people motivating us and telling us what we need to hear, but the sad truth is that even with everything people would or will tell us, it takes a self-motivated person to stay motivated.
No amount of motivation can move or push a person to do something or go a step higher in achieving whatever they wish to achieve if they are not motivating themselves and being determined too.

I do tell a few persons that no amount of push from someone would make me do a thing if truly I don't want to do that thing, whether good or bad.
No one drives me at will, I can only assure you that words really do encourage me and give me all the spark I need to start my engine but people's motivations just aren't enough if I refuse to motivate and push myself too.

The motivation, encouragement, and appraisal you get from people will be only but for a while and that would fade away pretty soon but what keeps you going is your inner drive.
You only have yourself to push yourself and keep going even when it becomes pretty tough sometimes.
People will not always be there to tell you what you have to hear or what you need to hear.
You have to be there for yourself when the time comes and there is no one to tell you "Hey! I am proud of you, hey! You are doing well, keep it up, or hey! You can do this and I believe in you"
Those words wouldn't come often and they do not come every time so always be ready to push yourself beyond every limit, beyond the motivation, encouragement, and appraisal you seek from people, and make yourself your number one biggest motivator.
