#SublimeSunday - How I End a Week

Sublime Sunday.jpg

Another week ending #SublimeSunday post inspired by @c0ff33a and #BeautifulSunday as initiated by @ace108. This Sunday seems almost like back to a normal one with no vacations, camping or long weekend. Sunday is like a cleanup day for me and time to finally check the final things off the weekly list.

Restaurants Gonna Rest..aurant

IMG_8751.jpg

After a little well-deserved sleeping in, some errands find them procrasatinated to the end of the weekend and need to be taken care of. Good thing for me, the restaurants that need my attention are quite nice and a little photoshoot is not too bad on a busy weekend. This sidewalk patio was made possible by covid and the city has granted restaurants like https://rajastratford.ca the permission to keep theirs open. Nice mild and not overly sunny day makes for some great fine Indian cuisine al fresco without even needing to put up the umbrellas. The best part is I FINALLY have some pictures with the patio full of people for social media. Patios are best shown with vibrant colours and lively people action.

Next stop is only a couple blocks away at https://revival.house where they are doing a brisk brunch service. I do like to find the best places to shoot pictures in this fine olf cathedral restaurant and event venue. Only a room this big from up high can look sparsely populated when there are over 40 people in the picture.

Next up is a trip I try to take daily to the dog park. Birdhouse tree is still holding all its foliage despite some cooler evenings which has pessimists thinking summer is ending. Reality deniers like me simply call it a cool spell, plan more summer adventures and squeeze every drop out of the non-winter weather. Before long, this giant will turn yellow at the top and perhaps even red when the frost starts. I am looking forward to sharing those fireworks.

Another sign of aging of the summer season is this old girl making some tracks. She pulled herself from the stream and was making for greener pastures when she stopped for a picture.

You can see how intently interested Sir Fuzzyface is with our new friend. He rolled right up to it, gave it a sniff, paused and wondered what the hell it was. Then he started sniffing right where the snapper is and I thought for sure he was about t learn a painful nose lesson. He pawed at it a little and even tried to nibble the tail before I dragged him away. No sign of her today so hopefully she made it back home or to the nest.

After that, it was back home to hit the rest of the honey do list. First up was assembling this outdoor furniture I managed to snag on clearance. These sets are generally overpriced and not worth the $1000 or $1500 on the regular retail sticker. This one was still in the box and marked to sell at $400 which was an offer I couldn't refuse. A little late in the season for a new patio set but we still have another month+ of good weather and probably 3 til we see any snow. A great place to wind down after work or lounge on a Sunday afternoon.

A bike tire also needed fixing and dad is always the go to for any of those things. The back tire is a little more difficult to remove and get back on because of the gears and derailleur but I was up to the task. Maybe $50 at the local bike shop or 11$ and a little Zeke power should do it.

Next up was the mowing of the lawn. I procrastinate this most as I detest the ornamental monoculture that requires maintenance. Still, needs to be done until I can replace it with ground cover but it was nice to see the wild strawberries actually kick up little berries! Its the small things.

IMG_8783.jpg

While mowing, I stuck my nose in the garden to see what is up. A couple weeks of tomatoes, beans but it looks like our sweet and hot peppers are close too. A challenging season as far as too much rainfall goes but still getting all kinds of veggies out of the garden.

Speaking of which, I know I owe you a #gardenhive review. Too many exiting adventures to report on and I have saved up a bunch of stuff for the garden post of the year. You can see the tomatoes from here!

The sun has gone down on another weekend and #sublimesunday. Sunsets are getting a little earlier each day and soon they will be around 5 pm. Not for as long as I can pretend summer is still here and there are plenty of green Sundays left.

Hope your weekend and Sunday were sublime!

Cool nights on the way in the near future but hopefully it inspires big vegetable growth!

That looks like a pretty awesome Sunday indeed. We've a few more patio restaurants here after Covid as well, which is definitely nice.

The picture of that bike made me realise that I really do miss mine. I have not been out riding like I normally like to do. Alas. Time to change that, methinks.

Yes! My little one was not happy about having to buy a new tube to get hers running again. I told her 11$ to get back the feel of the open road was a bargain.

Yah! I have been letting wild strawberry spread in hopes of choking out sections of lawn but it has never produced a berry. That's the first one and it is smaller round than a dime!

Really this restaurant looks so beautiful and amazing. I went to the zoo with friends this week and had a lot of fun seeing the animals.
