Greetings to everyone here, this time I want to share with you an area of photography that has been growing in demand by the technological boom, this is the product photography, this type of photographs are increasingly requested commercially by the great visual competition that exists in digital media such as websites and social networks.

I have been doing this style of photography for some years now and it is a photographic area that is becoming more and more specialized. At the gastronomic level is where I have had more possibilities to work with this type of photography, for entrepreneurs in the food area and some places in the city where I currently live that have asked me to photograph the products they offer in their menus and then create digital content with them.

Este estilo de fotografía lo he ido realizando desde hace algunos años atrás y es un área fotográfica que cada vez se especializa más. A nivel gastronómico es donde he tenido más posibilidades de trabajar con este tipo de fotografías, para emprendedores del área de alimentos y algunos locales de la ciudad donde vivo actualmente que me han solicitado fotografiar los productos que ofrecen en sus cartas para luego crear con ellas contenido digital.

At the beginning I had no experience in this matter, I started to research and document myself through the internet about this type of photography, then also with interviews with the clients asking what destination these photos would have in order to have a clear objective in the sessions.

En un principio que no tenía nada de experiencia al respecto, empecé a investigar y documentarme a través del internet sobre este tipo de fotografías, luego también con entrevistas con ls clientes preguntando que destino tendrían estas fotos para de esa manera poder tener un objetivo claro en las sesiones.

This type of photographic work is long, laborious, it requires patience, because the clients provide the products, they prepare them with all the details and they almost have to be seen in perfect conditions because they are going to be promoted for sale.

Este tipo de trabajo a nivel fotográfico es largo, laborioso, se requiere tener paciencia, porque los clientes proveen los productos, los preparan con toda la mayor cantidad de detalles y casi que se tiene que ver en perfectas condiciones pues va a ser promocionado para la venta.

Once the product is ready, it is time to prepare the set where it will be photographed, take into account the issue of lighting, adjust if there will be more decorative elements or even people participating in the session, The truth is that it is not a job that I recommend to be done with a previous preparation and organization of everything that will be done on the day of the session to ensure that it will be done in time, especially if they are products from bakeries or ice cream shops, as there comes a time when conditions change and the product no longer looks the same as when it was prepared, as for example in the case of ice cream or pastry cream.

Una vez que el producto está listo toca preparar el set donde será fotografiado, tener en cuenta el tema de la iluminación, ajustar si estarán presentes más elementos decorativos o hasta personas participando en la sesión, la verdad no es un trabajo que recomiendo se realicé con una previa preparación y organización de todo lo que se hará el día de la sesión para que garantice rendir el tiempo y más sin son productos de pastelerías o heladerías, que llega un momento las condiciones cambian y el producto ya no se sigue viendo igual que cuando lo prepararon, como por ejemplo el caso de los helados o la crema pastelera.

In my case, I sit in a previous meeting with the clients to design a scheme of work for that day of the photo shoot, so that they also have ready everything that will be used as flowers, fabrics, ornaments or even when other people will be there to indicate what they are going to do and how they should dress, and such details, everything is planned in advance to ensure the success of the work.

En mi caso, me siento en una reunión previa con los clientes para diseñar un esquema de trabajo de ese día de la sesión de fotos, para que así ellos también tenga listo todo lo que se va a usar como flores, telas, adornos o incluso cuando estarán otras personas indicarle que van a hacer y como deben vestir, y ese tipo de detalles, todo queda planificado con anterioridad para garantizar el éxito del trabajo.

The rest is up to the photographer, which is to take the different photographs, and then selection and editing of the material, and then delivery, in my case sometimes I was in charge of social media management and I had to generate the content with those photographs, but these are cases after negotiation with the client.

Ya lo demás corre por cuenta del fotógrafo, que es realizar las diferentes fotografías, y posteriormente selección y edición del material, y después la entrega, en mi caso en ocasiones estuve a cargo de gestión de redes sociales y me tocaba generar el contenido con esas fotografías, pero son casos previa negociación con el cliente.
