A Day Working With Bees And Their Honey in Chile - Eng/Esp
hello! how are you? taking up again this beautiful community, I wasn't dead... I was on a bender!!!
A few months ago I was in chile, working with some beekeepers. We went to an avocado plantation to check the hives that were there doing a beautiful service of pollination.
In Chile they do something called transhumance, which is nothing more than moving the hives to plantations for a few months so that the bees can help pollinate these plants. Many of these plantations are far from a habitat that allows them to have bees in a natural way and in order to get a good harvest, they choose to rent the hives of some beekeepers like these.
It is incredible the benefit that is obtained, not only do they pay them for renting the bees, but they also benefit from the plants. That day we harvested almost 10 hives, these were full of honey and pollen. !!!!
I had left unharmed, without a sting... and on the way back home, a friend accompanied us and zaaaaz I got stung!
Beautiful bees, but they sting hard!!!

hola! que tal? retomando esta hermosa comunidad, no estaba muerta... estaba de parranda!!
Hace unos meses estuve en chile, trabajando con unos apicultores. Fuimos a una plantación de aguacates a revisar las colmenas que estaban ahí haciendo un servicio precioso de polinización.
En chile hacen mucho algo que se llama transhumancia, que no es mas que trasladar las colmenas a plantaciones por unos meses para que las abejas ayuden a polinizar estas plantas. Muchas de estas plantaciones esta lejos de un habitat que les permita tener abejas de forma natural y para poder obtener una cosecha buena, optan por alquilar las colmenas de algunos apicultores como estos.
Es increible el beneficio que se obtiene, no solo les pagan por alquilar a las abejas, sino que tambien, se benefician de las plantas. Ese dia cosechamos casi 10 colmenas, estas estaba repletas de miel y polen!!!!
Habia salido ilesa, sin una picada... y de regreso a casa, nos acompaño una amiga y zaaaaz me pico!
Hermosas abejas, pero pican duro!!
