Greetings friends of @hivepets, It is a pleasure to share with you the love for pets, in particular I have a preference for dogs and cats, but as a protectionist I advocate for the respectful treatment of all animals.

I grew up surrounded by animals, in my home I learned about the basic care for their welfare, so I naturally understood their meaning for our lives, and how human beings are humanized when we are able to empathize with the needs of animals in street conditions.

At some point I found myself caring or watching over the care, not only of the pets in my home but also of the animals close to my circle of friends, it was inevitable to transfer that taste to my work environment, right there I discovered my other great vocation, I joined the cause of a modest team of volunteers who were dedicated to feed several dogs in the vicinity of my office, there was born my commitment as a protectionist.

Saludos amigos de @hivepets, Es un placer poder compartir con ustedes el gusto por las mascotas, en particular yo tengo cierta preferencia con hacia los perros y gatos, pero como proteccionista abogo por el trato respetuoso hacia todos los animales.

Crecí rodeada de animales, en mi hogar aprendí sobre los cuidados básicos para su bienestar, así que de manera natural comprendí su significado para nuestras vidas, y sobre cómo los seres humanos nos humanizamos cuando somos capaces de empatizar con las necesidades de los animales en condición de calle.

En algún punto me encontré cuidando o velando por el cuidado, no solo de las mascotas en mi hogar sino también de los animalitos cercanos a mi círculo de amistades, fue inevitable trasladar ese gusto hacia mi entorno laboral, justo allí descubrí mi otra gran vocación, me sumé a la causa de un modesto equipo de voluntarios que se dedicaban a dar alimento a varios perritos en los alrededores de mi oficina, allí nació mi compromiso como proteccionista.

In this journey I have taken several dogs to be sterilized, I have fed them, I have found them homes, and some time later I keep in touch with them to make sure they receive the love they deserve. Sometimes it is difficult to help everyone, but it is much more difficult to say no.

Precisely because of the lack of financial resources to help them all, I have recently focused my efforts on awareness, the purpose is to disseminate all the necessary guidance on primary care, basic food, local legislation on animal protection, which is why I am regularly giving talks on the subject.

Recently, on World Animal Day, I was invited to talk to a group of children in the first stage of primary education, unfortunately I could not attend that day, work responsibilities prevented me, but I managed to adjust the agenda to meet the purpose, I confess, I felt a little nervous, because I am not used to work with children so young, so I prepared a very simple and sober presentation to not overwhelm the children with so much information.

En ese transitar he llevado varios peludos a esterilizar, los he alimentado, conseguido hogar, y tiempo después mantengo el contacto para velar porque reciban el amor que merecen, en ocasiones resulta complejo porque ese voluntariado no recibe ayuda económica y muchos de los gastos en los que se incurre corren por cuenta propia, es difícil ayudar a todos, pero mucho más difícil es decir que no.

Precisamente, por falta de recursos económicos para ayudarlos a todos es que recientemente he abocado los esfuerzos a la sensibilización, el propósito es difundir toda la orientación necesaria sobre atención primaria, alimentación básica, legislación local sobre protección animal, es por ello que regularmente me encuentro dictando charlas sobre el tema.

Recientemente, a propósito del día Mundial de los animales, me invitaron a conversar con un grupo de niños de la primera etapa de educación primaria, lamentablemente no pude asistir ese día, las responsabilidades en el trabajo me lo impidieron, pero logré ajustar la agenda para cumplir con el propósito, confieso, me sentía algo nerviosa, porque no acostumbro a trabajar con niños tan pequeños, por ello preparé una presentación muy sencilla y sobria para no abrumar a los niños con tanta información.

It was a very emotional activity, we started talking about when and why World Animal Day is commemorated, about the importance of safeguarding animals, about the most common pets in their homes, one child in particular was very sad to tell us that one of his pets had recently died because he had fallen ill and his parents had no money to take him to the vet, I felt very sad because, although in many homes there are pets, the reality is that few have the resources to provide professional care in case of an emergency.

This motivates me to continue my work as a protectionist, going to schools and communities allows me to offer timely guidance, making children aware of where to go in search of local organizations that are dedicated to providing primary care at no cost is a great help because it includes training owners to deal with minor emergencies from home.

The commemoration of World Animal Day is a permanent reminder of the commitment that as citizens and as civilized societies we must undertake for the preservation of all species in the different ecosystems. It is everyone's responsibility to ensure environmental sustainability so that wild animals do not disappear, so that domestic animals are well cared for and especially so that those in street conditions do not suffer mistreatment.

Fue una actividad muy emotiva, empezamos conversando sobre cuándo y por qué se conmemora el día Mundial de los animales, sobre la importancia de garantizar su salvaguarda, sobre las mascotas más comunes en sus hogares, un niño en particular se puso muy triste al contarnos que una de sus mascotas había muerto recientemente porque había enfermado y sus papis no tenían dinero para llevarlo al veterinario, me sentí muy afligida porque, aunque en muchos hogares hay mascotas, la realidad es que pocos tienen los recursos para ofrecerles atención profesional en caso de emergencia.

Lo anterior me motiva a seguir con mi labor como proteccionista, acudir a las escuelas y comunidades me permite ofrecer orientación oportuna, sensibilizar a los niños sobre a dónde acudir en búsqueda de las organizaciones locales que se dedican a ofrecer atención primaria sin costo alguno es una gran ayuda pues ello incluye la capacitación a los dueños para atender emergencias menores desde el hogar.

La conmemoración del día Mundial del Animal es un recordatorio permanente del compromiso que como ciudadanos y como sociedades civilizadas debemos emprender para la preservación de todas las especies de los diferentes ecosistemas, es responsabilidad de todos velar por la sostenibilidad medioambiental para que los animales silvestres no desaparezcan, para que los animales domésticos sean bien atendidos y en especial para que los que se encuentran en condición de calle no sufran maltrato.
