[Esp-Eng] A very special night celebrating Ru's birthday

Cómo cada 23 de junio fuimos a celebrar el cumpleaños de Ru, mi esposo, la costumbre es ir a comer a algún lugar bonito y diferente.

Este año justo cayó un lunes así que nos fuimos por lo seguro, Friday's, porque a todos nos gusta la comida del lugar, la atención es muy buena y a los cumpleañeros les suelen cantar el "Cumpleaños Feliz" de una forma muy divertida.

Every June 23rd, we celebrate my husband Ru's birthday. The tradition is to go out to eat somewhere nice and different.

This year it fell on a Monday, so we played it safe and went to Friday's, because we all like the food there, the service is very good, and they usually sing “Happy Birthday” to birthday boys and girls in a very fun way.

El día comenzó bastante tranquilo pero con mucha energía, recibiendo las felicitaciones de todos sus amigos y familiares que celebran con Ru en la distancia.

Por si no lo saben, ya tenemos 9 años fuera de nuestro país y celebrar con los nuestros es un poco complicado, pero nos amoldamos con los que estamos más cerca.

The day started off fairly calm but with a lot of energy, receiving congratulations from all his friends and family who celebrate with Ru from afar.

In case you don't know, we've been away from our country for nine years now, and celebrating with our loved ones is a bit complicated, but we make do with those who are closest to us.

Luego por la tarde llegó en tiempo récord el pedido de la torta, por supuesto bien chocolatosa y muy rica, creo que de las mejores que hemos probado en Lima, de hecho, los postres de María Almenara son de los mejores.

Then in the afternoon, the cake arrived in record time, of course very chocolatey and very tasty, I think one of the best we've tried in Lima. In fact, María Almenara's desserts are among the best.

Y para cerrar el día de festejo con broche de oro nos fuimos a cenar, de entrada pedimos unos nachos que estaban divinos, con una muy buena combinación de sabores y texturas.

And to end the day of celebration on a high note, we went out to dinner. For starters, we ordered some nachos that were divine, with a very good combination of flavors and textures.

De segundo plato, ya cada quien pidió algo diferente y de acuerdo a cada gusto, nosotros optamos por unos deditos de pollo con papas fritas, ensalada y maíz dulce y unas costillas en salsa de whisky, para tomar, algunos cerveza, otros iced tea.

For the main course, everyone ordered something different according to their tastes. We opted for chicken fingers with French fries, salad, and sweet corn, and ribs in whiskey sauce. To drink, some had beer, others iced tea.

Al final fue tanta comida que pedimos el resto para llevar a casa, claro teníamos que hacer espacio para la torta.

Finalmente, llegó el momento soplar las velitas, pedir el respectivo deseo del día y por supuesto disfrutar del momento dulce de la noche y si ven dos tortas en la foto es porque de parte del restaurante se sumó otra.

In the end, there was so much food that we asked for the rest to take home. Of course, we had to make room for the cake.

Finally, it was time to blow out the candles, make a wish, and enjoy the sweet moment of the night. If you see two cakes in the photo, it's because the restaurant added another one.
