The simplest walks are usually those that leave pleasant memories; that is why today I am telling you about this experience I had while walking around Las Tres Gracias Square, a place located in the southeast of the city of Caracas that is marked by history, art, and academia. As far as I understand, this public space is the beginning of a very important road corridor, where the Central University of Venezuela marks the starting point, leading to the courtyard of honor of the Military Academy.

Los paseos más sencillos normalmente son aquellos que dejan gratos recuerdos; es así como el día de hoy les cuento esta experiencia que tuve mientras caminaba alrededor de la Plaza Las Tres Gracias, un lugar ubicado en el sureste de la ciudad de Caracas que se encuentra marcado por la historia, el arte y la academia. Por lo que tengo entendido, este espacio público constituye el inicio de un corredor vial muy importante, en donde la Universidad Central de Venezuela marca el punto de partida, hasta llegar al patio de honor de la Academia Militar.

But on this occasion, I simply delighted in the exquisite taste and, without a doubt, the profound European touch that characterizes this plaza, where nature, art, and academia seem to have found a perfect fusion point, turning walking into an incredible urban experience.

Pero en esta oportunidad yo solo me deleité con el gusto exquisito y sin duda alguna con un profundo toque europeo que caracteriza a esta plaza, ya que la naturaleza, el arte y la academia parecieran haber encontrado aquí un punto de fusión perfecta, en donde caminar se convierte en una experiencia urbana increíble.

On hot afternoons, the palm trees, willows, and reflecting pool present themselves as an idyllic oasis that serves as a refuge amid busy avenues, flanked by a campus that is always divergent and full of contradictions.

En tardes calurosas, las palmeras, los sauces y el espejo de agua se presentan como un oasis idílico que sirve de refugio en medio de avenidas altamente transitadas, y flanqueado por un campus siempre divergente y repleto de contradicciones.

I like that Caracas has so many public spaces, but I love that they are all different, each with its own personality. And in this case, as I mentioned earlier, I found European touches in the middle of a distinctly Caribbean city.

Me gusta que Caracas tenga tantos espacios públicos, pero me encanta que todos sean diferentes, cada uno con su propia personalidad. Y en este caso, como les había comentado líneas atrás, me encontré con toques europeos, en medio de una urbe netamente caribeña.

I saw the Muses crowning the center of the square as synonymous with inspiration, but at the same time as a cry for freedom, where spontaneity and self-determination are always sought. It is in this way that I will continue to explore the city, strolling through idyllic spaces and enjoying every step of the way.

Las Musas que coronan el centro de la plaza las vi como sinónimo de inspiración, pero al mismo tiempo como un grito de libertad, en donde se busca siempre la espontaneidad y autodeterminación. Es de esta forma que seguiré recorriendo la ciudad, paseando por espacios idílicos y disfrutando de cada paso recorrido.
