Enjoying the City

To really get to know a city, you have to walk around it, feel it, and observe it in detail. That's how I've gradually learned about every place I've had the opportunity to visit. This time, my visit to the Venezuelan capital gave me the opportunity to discover a new space, a place I had actually visited before, but which has now been completely remodeled and given a totally different look.

Disfrutando de la Ciudad

Para conocer bien una ciudad hay que caminarla, sentirla y observarla detalladamente; es así como poco a poco he aprendido a conocer cada lugar al cual he tenido la oportunidad de visitar. En esta oportunidad, mi paso por la capital venezolana me brindó la oportunidad de conocer un nuevo espacio, un lugar al que sinceramente ya había visitado con anterioridad, pero que en la actualidad se encuentra totalmente remodelado y bajo una visión totalmente diferente.

Plaza Candelaria is now much more than just a public recreation area; in recent months it has become a place of pilgrimage right in the heart of this Caribbean city, since the church on one of its edges houses the remains of San José Gregorio Hernández, a man whose way of life proved that there are exceptional people who are undoubtedly guided by kindness, faith, and love.

La Plaza Candelaria ahora es mucho más que un simple espacio de esparcimiento público; desde unos meses para acá se ha convertido en un sitio de peregrinación justo en el corazón de esta urbe caribeña, puesto que en la iglesia que se encuentra en una de sus orillas se encuentran los restos mortales de San José Gregorio Hernández, un hombre cuya forma de vida demostró que existen personajes excepcionales, los cuales sin duda alguna están regidos por la bondad, la fe y el amor.

On one side, we found the equestrian statue of Antonio José de Sucre, and as we moved forward, we discovered Dr. José Gregorio Hernández represented in an immense sculpture, leaning against a crystal-clear water fountain, a 100% natural environment, and completely renovated spaces.
De un lado nos encontramos con la estatua ecuestre de Antonio José de Sucre y, a medida que vamos avanzando, descubrimos al doctor José Gregorio Hernández representado en una escultura inmensa, apoyada en medio de una fuente de agua cristalina, un entorno 100% natural y unos espacios totalmente remozados.

Here we find benches to sit on, good lighting, and a cheerful atmosphere, but at the same time, we can feel the power of faith, hope, and love. On one side, we will also find a very beautiful and pure representation of Saint Carmen Rendiles, who, together with José Gregorio Hernández, was also elevated to the altars of the Catholic Church, thus becoming the first Venezuelan saints, but at the same time indisputable examples that a life forged under the patterns of kindness and love is also a full and admirable existence.
Acá encontraremos bancas para sentarse, buen sistema de alumbrado y un entorno bastante alegre, pero al mismo tiempo en donde podemos sentir el poder de la fe, la esperanza y el amor. De un lado también encontraremos una representación muy linda y pura de la santa Madre Carmen Rendiles, quien junto a José Gregorio Hernández también fue elevada a los altares de la Iglesia católica, convirtiéndose así en los primeros santos venezolanos, pero al mismo tiempo en ejemplos indiscutibles de que una vida forjada bajo los patrones de la bondad y el amor también es una existencia plena y digna de admirar.

La Candelaria is a commercial area par excellence; here we find shopping centers, many restaurants, and spaces suitable for almost any activity, which, without a doubt, have seen their activities boosted thanks to the new urban planning around this sanctuary.
La Candelaria es una zona comercial por excelencia; aquí encontraremos centros comerciales, muchos restaurantes y espacios adecuados para casi cualquier actividad, los cuales, sin duda alguna, han visto potenciar sus actividades gracias al nuevo ordenamiento urbano existente en torno a este Santuario.

I really enjoyed touring the space. Without a doubt, the unstoppable force of faith transcends the walls of a temple, and on this occasion, it can be fully felt throughout the entire environment. That is why I am satisfied that the tour was a complete success, and I am leaving with the certainty that I will return to this space and have the opportunity to tour it again in its entirety and share that experience with you.

Me gustó mucho recorrer el espacio, sin duda alguna la fuerza indetenible de la fe trasciende los muros de un templo y en esta oportunidad se puede sentir plenamente en todo el entorno, Por eso tengo el corazón satisfecho de que el paseo realizado fue totalmente exitoso y me voy con la certeza de que voy a regresar a este espacio y tendré la oportunidad de volverlo a recorrer por completo y de compartir con ustedes esa experiencia.
