CCC's Street Art Contest #258 - Colors For The City - Colores Para La Ciudad

Over the years, La Fría has become one of the most important cities in the state of Táchira, thanks to steady economic growth, strong cross-border trade, and a privileged geographical location, as the city stands at the crossroads of major roads leading to all corners of the country. However, despite all these positive factors, the impact of national economic difficulties has also been felt here quite strongly. For a time, art disappeared from the streets and avenues, gradually giving way to walls painted in a single color and, in many cases, with traces of neglect.

Con el pasar de los años La Fría se ha constituido en una de las ciudades más importantes del estado Táchira, esto debido a un crecimiento económico constante, un fuerte intercambio fronterizo y una geografía privilegiada, puesto que la ciudad se levanta en el medio de importantes caminos que conducen a todos los puntos cardinales del país. Pero a pesar de todos estos factores positivos, los embates de las dificultades económicas nacionales también se han sentido acá con bastante fuerza, es así como durante un tiempo el arte dejó de estar presente en las calles y avenidas, para poco a poco darle paso a paredes pintadas de un solo color y en muchas ocasiones con algún vestigio de olvido.

But thanks to the creativity and positive energy of Andean artist Ramiro Quintana, today we can see how the city streets are blossoming with color, art, and modernity. Where there were once white walls, today there are murals like this one, which has transformed a forgotten corner into a magical and lively space, where street art is presented to us in a kind of abstract mural that leads us into an amazing world full of joy.

Pero gracias a la creatividad y muy buena energía del artista plástico andino Ramiro Quintana, hoy podemos ver cómo las calles de la ciudad florecen a través del color, el arte y la modernidad. En donde antes había paredes blancas, hoy se levantan murales como este, el cual se ha convertido a una esquina olvidada, en un espacio mágico y vivo, en donde el arte callejero se nos presenta en una especie de mural abstracto que nos conduce hacia un mundo alucinante y lleno de alegría.

I am convinced that street art, in any of its forms, can lead us to a more cheerful and fun city, where we can break away from monotony and dull colors, giving way to a fantastic world where each brushstroke leads us to a more pleasant and welcoming reality.

Estoy convencido de que el arte callejero en cualquiera de sus presentaciones, nos puede conducir hacia una ciudad más alegre y divertida, en donde se pueda romper con la monotonía y los colores tristes, para darle paso a un mundo fantástico, en donde cada pincelada nos conduzca hacia una realidad más agradable y acogedora.
