CCC's Street Art Contest #137 - A Carabobo Lancer / Un Lancero de Carabobo

We continue touring and discovering the murals of the city of Caracas, this time we are in Urdaneta Avenue, one of the most important in the city, since on it are numerous government buildings of the most important for the political, economic and social life of the country, it is for this reason that a few years ago was taken as the main point for the development of numerous artistic expressions, which mostly refer to the most glorious independence deed of our history, The Battle of Carabobo.

In this scene that I present today we enter the battlefield of June 24, 1821, where the patriotic forces led by the Liberator Simón Bolívar clashed with the Spanish royalist army commanded by Miguel de la Torre, resulting in a definitive victory for the republican forces, who from that moment continued on an unstoppable path that would result in victory over the peninsular empire and the future formation of the new republic. Therefore this historical feat is very present in our minds and in the formation of the Venezuelan of the XXI century, this in order to keep alive our fighting, libertarian and warrior spirit, it is great to find these images throughout the city, as they are like photographs of that moment that would completely change our lives and that of future generations.

En esta escena que hoy les presento nos adentramos en el campo de batalla del 24 de junio de 1821, en donde las fuerzas patriotas dirigidas por el Libertador Simón Bolívar chocarían con el ejercito realista español comandado por Miguel de la Torre, resultando en una victoria definitiva para las fuerzas republicanas, quienes a partir de ese momento siguieron por una senda indetenible que daría como resultado la victoria sobre el imperio peninsular y la futura conformación de la nueva república. Por lo tanto esta gesta histórica se encuentra muy presente en nuestra mente y en la formación del venezolano del siglo XXI, esto con la finalidad de mantener viva nuestro espíritu luchador, libertario y guerrero, es genial encontrar estas imágenes a lo largo y ancho de la ciudad, ya que son como fotografías de aquel momento que cambiaria por completo nuestras vidas y la de futuras generaciones.

A very striking feature of this battle was that the Venezuelan people took up arms against the Spanish army, but in many cases it was peasants, slaves, students and women, who despite not having a military training decided to go to battle for freedom, that is how this image shows a brave lancer who without any uniform, barefoot and on a brave steed rushes with great bravery over the enemy. I do not know the author of the mural, but I recognize in him a deep love for our history, for the homeland and for art, I enjoyed admiring and photographing it, I hope with the passing of the days to find here in this same city other images that give us more scenes of that epic moment.

Una característica muy llamativa de esta batalla fue que el pueblo venezolano se alzo en armas contra el ejercito español, pero en muchos casos se trataba de campesinos, esclavos, estudiantes y mujeres, quienes a pesar de no contar con una instrucción militar decidieron ir a la batalla por la libertad, es así como en esta imagen se aprecia a un valiente lancero quien sin uniforme alguno, descalzo y sobre un bravío corcel se abalanza con gran hidalguía sobre el enemigo. Desconozco el autor del mural, pero reconozco en el un profundo amor por nuestra historia, por la patria y por el arte, disfrute mucho admirándolo y fotografiándolo, espero con el pasar de los días poder encontrar acá en esta misma ciudad otras imágenes que nos regalen más escenas de aquel épico momento.
