As in all Venezuelan cities, in Caracas the most important and central square is Plaza Bolivar, a place that pays homage to the living memory of our liberator and from where historical events that transcend time have taken place, forming the basis of the republic we know today and the society in which we find ourselves immersed.
Being a historical and central site, I can assure you that access routes are diverse, around this space we find historical places such as the Cathedral, the Archbishop's Palace or the Federal Legislative Palace, the Government of the Capital District and the City Council, places that not only represent the national history, but are still part of the power structure that is in force in the XXI century.
Despite being surrounded by government buildings, we can also find a large number of stores, dedicated to different areas, but in which we can find the necessary services to make our visit a unique moment, I was surprised to learn that the entire square has free internet access via wifi, which works quite well and I think it is an interesting attraction for those who always seek to be connected at all times.
Walking through this Plaza my body and spirit were filled with a great patriotic feeling, where the pride for my country and its symbols became stronger, plus I was delighted to see that the whole space was in perfect condition and that there are a kind of watchmen aware of everything that happens in these public facilities, always seeking to maintain the good behavior and preservation of all the furniture, which undoubtedly dates from the last century and is characterized by interesting finishes in goldsmithing and the use of noble materials capable of resisting the passage of time.
This square dates back to colonial times, when the Spanish established a Plaza Mayor in the center of the grid of the newly created city. However, with the passing of time and victory in the independence struggles, it was renamed in honor of the liberator, and a monument was erected in its center depicting General Bolívar standing victorious on a horse rearing up on its hind legs, demonstrating the greatness of the character and at the same time leaving us with great symbolism and enormous memories. In addition, as a curious fact, the base of the statue is configured as a hollow space where a time capsule is preserved, which is a witness to a bygone era when Venezuelans looked to the future with thoughts of greatness and heroism.
I love places full of trees, since they are spaces that are painted with natural colors, where the atmosphere is much more pleasant and always present. Also, I must say that in my walk around the square I perceived a great flow of people, who dance from one side to the other going about their own lives, but surely dreaming of bright futures.
For the caraqueño walking through these spaces becomes everyday and simple, but for a guy like me who comes from the interior of the Andes, having the opportunity to observe with my own eyes those buildings and spaces that I had only seen on television, is an incomparable feeling, since it is a goal accomplished and an experience that will remain stored in my heart as one of the most interesting and beautiful that I have been able to have.
I continue touring the city with my mind set on getting to know beautiful places, historical spaces and areas that show how beautiful and rich the city of Caracas is, a capital that opens its arms to all visitors, that hides many secrets and that just by walking around it we can discover how interesting and diverse its culture is, how friendly its people are and how beautiful its landscapes are.

Public space with artistic style has one power, which is 'beauty'. There are many people there and it seems very pleasant. Enjoy the afternoon by sitting and enjoying time to rest.
@isdarmady That's right, my friend, it's a place where you can relax in peace, and its surroundings are very artistic, which is incredible. As a curious fact, on two of its corners there are a couple of theaters that are landmarks in the city's cultural and artistic world.
This place is indeed sent by heaven. I really love how you took a picture, it feels like I'm in the place also! Thank you for sharing you experience with us, this gives us a picture of this beautiful place. Keep safe!
@sethjournals Hello, thank you very much for your comment. It's great that you enjoyed this tour as much as I did. That was precisely the idea: for all readers to get a clear and realistic idea of the energy and beauty of this very special place. Best regards and blessings!
Beautiful Venezuela, it was the best economy of LA 30-40 years ago, but once the left took control through about 20 years ago, the whole country went downhill causing the biggest humanitarian crisis in modern times.Caracas is now the second most violent city in the world after Tegucigalpa.
@latinowinner The world is full of perceptions, and that is to be respected. I can only tell you that my trip to Caracas is incredible. I have discovered a very beautiful city, full of details and with very well-preserved public spaces. So far, it does not seem like an unsafe place to me, and I am really just looking to enjoy this opportunity to the fullest and live each moment away from bad energy and distanced from political discussions that, in my opinion, are pointless.
That looks like such a chill place where to spend a while! Thanks for sharing it!
@gabrielatravels It's a really nice place where we can sit and admire our surroundings, chat with a friend, or simply enjoy an ice cream. I really like this square and enjoy walking around it. Greetings and blessings!
This is amazing! While reading, I feel like walking with you in the Plaza Bolívar. I love how you convey that deep patriotic feeling and the historical richness of the place.
@anlizapasaje1234 Hello friend, thank you very much for your kind words. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed reading my post. It is wonderful to be able to travel through the experiences of others. I have done so many times, and I believe that the idea behind sharing these types of posts is precisely that: to show how interesting and beautiful our world is.
Places that was built during Spanish time was very nice ,they have beautiful architectures and a wonderful landscape. This place is one of the many places that's with Spanish touch.
@ronimarie82 It's true, places from the colonial era always had a lot of harmony, in addition to being designed to be very useful. Over time, these blocks have changed a lot, but they still retain that original spirit of a bygone era. Greetings and blessings!
Bolivar Square looks absolutely stunning ✨ It's awesome that you got to experience a place you'd only seen on TV.. Thanks for sharing such a patriotic and beautiful experience! 💖"
@wanderelle You know when you have the opportunity to visit a place that you have only seen in photographs or on TV, the feeling that takes hold of you is incredible. I really enjoyed the trip and tried to take photographs that captured the beauty and reality of the place.

There is no doubt that it is an icon of the city, a place where we can look around and simply find beautiful architecture, lovely natural landscapes, and true artistic touches.

Hello @yorgar !
You're very welcome , my friend...The way you described the place makes me want to visit it someday , full of history, beauty, and meaning... Truly inspiring!
Looking forward to seeing your next travel experience there...Blessings to you too! 🙏🌍✨
¡Saludos y bendiciones!
I also love places with lots of trees and history, it feels so relaxing and inspiring to walk around.
@iamlovelykate You're absolutely right, these are spaces filled with good energy and a very fresh atmosphere. Greetings and blessings!
@yorgar It is very gratifying for me, how you tell the story, and with the passion in which you love your homeland. The photos are impressive, too beautiful, they show the reality and we can observe how people rest peacefully in the square, in a city that has constant movement. I congratulate you for your post.
@lanoican Hello, my friend, thank you very much for your comment. It really is a very interesting place, where despite the heavy foot traffic, the atmosphere is fresh and peaceful, where you can relax, think, and enjoy any time of day. Best regards!
