A Day's Work
Sometimes the simplest activities are those that require the most steps. That's how today I managed to exceed the 5,000-step mark, solely by moving around inside my house and around my property. This was because it was a Tuesday full of household chores, where the main activity was weeding and cleaning part of the land. Thanks to the rains that had fallen during these days, the weeds were beginning to cover ornamental plants and some crops, so it was necessary to take timely measures to prevent the proliferation of animals and the loss of crops.
Un Día De Trabajo
A veces las actividades más sencillas son aquellas que demandan mayor cantidad de pasos, es así como el día de hoy logré superar la barrera de los 5.000 única y exclusivamente desplazándome dentro de mi casa y por los alrededores de mi terreno, esto debido a que se trató de un martes lleno de trabajos domésticos, en donde la actividad principal fue la de desmalezar y limpiar parte del terreno, ya que gracias a las lluvias caídas durante estos días la hierba mala estaba comenzando a cubrir plantas ornamentales y algunos cultivos, entonces es necesaria tomar medidas a tiempo, para evitar la proliferación de animales y la pérdida de las cosechas.
Although we are talking about a fairly small plot of land and a very artisanal crop, I must tell you that I have been able to harvest quite a lot of fruit and some vegetables here, but this time my hopes are pinned on the banana plants, sweet peppers, and lemons. The latter has required a lot of time and resources, as it is planted on hard soil, which has made its growth somewhat complicated.
A pesar de que estamos hablando de un terreno bastante pequeño y de un cultivo muy artesanal, debo contarles que acá he podido sacar bastantes frutas y algunas hortalizas, pero en esta oportunidad mis esperanzas están puestas en las plantas de plátano, el ají dulce y el limón, este último ha demandado mucho tiempo y recursos, ya que está plantado sobre una tierra dura, por lo cual, su crecimiento ha sido algo complicado.
I have been running around all day and have hardly been able to sit down and rest at any point, as this type of work consumes a lot of energy and is very time-consuming, but I do it with great love and with the hope that in the future everything will begin to flourish and the magic of life will be present in every fruit and vegetable harvested.
He estado de un lado a otro durante todo el día y prácticamente no me he podido sentar a descansar en ningún momento, ya que este tipo de trabajos consumen bastante energía y demandan mucho tiempo, pero yo lo hago con mucho cariño y con la esperanza puesta en que en un futuro todo comienza a florecer y la magia de la vida se haga presente en cada fruta y en cada verdura cosechada.
It was an intense day, full of heat and scorching sun, but fortunately the afternoon brought a light drizzle that cooled the air and allowed me to return to the comfort of my home to rest and recharge my batteries for another day of work tomorrow.
La jornada fue intensa, llena de calor y con un sol abrasador, pero afortunadamente la tarde se hizo presente con una tenue llovizna que refrescó el ambiente y que me permitió retornar a la comodidad del interior de mi casa para descansar y recuperar energías para enfrentarme a una nueva jornada de trabajo el día de mañana.
