Celebrando el cumpleaños de mi abuela (Esp/Eng)

Hola comunidad de Hive Family and Friends, este domingo 11 de junio estamos de celebración en la familia. Mi abuela está celebrando su cumpleaños número 69 y vengo a contarles como fue su maravilloso día.

Mi hija quiso dormir con ella la noche previa porque sabía que al próximo día (hoy) era el cumpleaños de su bisabuela y ambas se adoran. Liki (diminutivo que le digo a mi hija) le dió el de pie bien temprano este domingo, sobre las 7 de la mañana ya se había despertado entusiasmada sabía que era un día de celebración. Yo la sentí desde mi cuarto jugando y me levanté, le di un beso a mi bebé y fui hacia mi abuela a la cual le di un beso y un fuerte abrazo.

Hello Hive Family and Friends community, this Sunday June 11th we are celebrating in the family. My grandmother is celebrating her 69th birthday and I am here to tell you how her wonderful day went.

My daughter wanted to sleep with her the night before because she knew that the next day (today) was her great grandmother's birthday and they both adore each other. Liki (diminutive I call my daughter) gave her the standing up very early this Sunday, around 7 am she had already woken up excited and knew it was a day of celebration. I felt her from my room playing and got up, gave my baby a kiss and went to my grandmother to whom I gave a kiss and a big hug.

Ella se veía muy animada, a pesar de la pérdida sufrida hace muy poco(en noviembre del pasado año había fallecido mi abuelo) . El día anterior, el sábado, había recibido una visita muy alentadora y que fue toda una sorpresa para ella. Una amiga de muchos años que recide en los Estados Unidos vino a verla y se la llevó a comer y pasear por la ciudad.

Durante la mañana recibió muchas llamadas y mensajes de felicitación, en lo que mi esposa y yo hacíamos los preparativos para el almuerzo. A media mañana llegó un amigo de la familia que además es chef y bueno hasta ahí llegó nuestro trabajo en la cocina. Ulloa (nuestro amigo) se encargó de preparar un arroz al café, unas chicharritas de calabaza y unas papas cubiertas con una salsa de un caldo de pescado que también preparó. Vinieron mi mamá, mi padrastro y mi hermana y almorzamos muy delicioso en familia.

She looked very cheerful, despite her recent loss (in November of last year my grandfather had passed away). The day before, on Saturday, she had received a very encouraging visit, which was a surprise for her. A friend of many years who lives in the United States came to see her and took her out for lunch and a walk around the city.

During the morning she received many calls and messages of congratulations, while my wife and I made preparations for lunch. Mid-morning a friend of the family arrived who is also a chef and well, so much for our work in the kitchen. Ulloa (our friend) was in charge of preparing a rice with coffee, some pumpkin chicharritas and some potatoes covered with a fish broth sauce that he also prepared. My mom, stepfather and sister came and we had a delicious lunch as a family.

Mi abuela se veía contenta pero se notaba que le faltaba algo o en este caso alguien. Mi tío (su hijo) y mis primos que viven en Santa Clara a unos 70 kilómetros de mi casa no pudieron venir por diferentes motivos personales. Pero en general se me veía contenta y entusiasmada a mi abuela.

La tarde estuvo tranquila, con una música amena de fondo y unos traguitos ya que el día lo merecía. Fueron llegando y pasando ciertas amistades de la familia a felicitar a la cumpleañera. Jugamos dominó y pasamos un rato agradable y divertido.

My grandmother looked happy but I could tell she was missing something or in this case someone. My uncle (her son) and my cousins who live in Santa Clara about 70 kilometers from my house could not come for different personal reasons. But in general my grandmother seemed happy and enthusiastic.

The afternoon was quiet, with pleasant music in the background and a few drinks, as the day deserved it. Some family friends were arriving and passing by to congratulate the birthday girl. We played dominoes and had a nice and fun time.

En la noche fuimos a comer a casa de mi mamá quien le había preparado una cena a la festejada. Le preparó un delicioso arroz amarillo salteado con jamón, calabaza en salsa y plátano frito, mi esposa preparó un pudín que comimos de postre. Nos acompañó los suegros de mi hermana que pasaron la tarde-noche con nosotros.

De vuelta a la casa y ya a la hora de acostarse a dormir mi abuela me dió un abrazo y me dijo gracias por el hermoso día. Yo le respondí tú te mereces eso y mucho más dándole un beso en la frente.

In the evening we went to eat at my mom's house, who had prepared dinner for the birthday girl. She prepared a delicious sautéed yellow rice with ham, pumpkin in sauce and fried plantain, my wife prepared a pudding that we ate for dessert. We were accompanied by my sister's in-laws who spent the evening with us.

Back at the house and at bedtime my grandmother gave me a hug and said thank you for the beautiful day. I replied that you deserve that and much more by giving her a kiss on the forehead.
